New cyclone mod?

I just got this crazy idea on how to maybe get a high ROF with the cyclone. I was just going through my head the paints path as it goes into the breech that it contacts the "arm" that pulls balls in. Considering its metal and hard, I was thinking maybe something softer would also help from paint breaking from impacting it hard.

What if I jsut took some heat shrink tubing and pulled it over the arm to act as a softer barrier? ill give it a try once i get my A5 parts back.

Re: New cyclone mod?

Finally someone else agrees with me about that damn arm!!!! lol, but yeah, good idea, however, shrink wrap will do absolutley nothing, especially since it A. Countours and constricts to the object, and B. If you use to much, you may inadvetantley start jamming the balls from entering the breach, my idea had been to file down about 1/4-1/2 an inch of the arm, Basically the "Sharp" part of the arm, and dull it out by sanding it to a smooth surface, a friend of mine tried it and the amount of rounds that broke dropped quite a bit.

Maybe find a way the file down and thin the arm and apply some kind of soft rubber coating?

Re: New cyclone mod?

The rubber coating could work, but requires taping it up. The shrink wrap is suppose to as something like that but in a thinner layer withless work. Shrink wrap is also thin so the paddles can still glide by.

Re: New cyclone mod?

You would need something like teflon instead.

Re: New cyclone mod?

You could file down the arm enough so that when you glued a foam pad to it, it would not be too thick as to block entrace into the breach, however by removing some of the metal material, you would be weakening it, and it would possibly break easier.

Re: New cyclone mod?

Good idea. How about heat shrink tubing?

You actually don't want to use something too soft, it may "grip" the paint causing it to break.

The paint needs to slide and roll along that arm, so whatever it is, it needs to be smooth. Teflon would be awesome or Delrin plastic.

Re: New cyclone mod?

What about velcro loops? Nothing really to grab, just fiber loops.

Re: New cyclone mod?

I would think that something that resembles the A5 detent would be perfect. It would absorb the blow, giving a little. While deflecting the ball into the chamber. So a soft rubber coated spring attached to the arm should be the solution.
