Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

Has anyone seen any for sale? It would be hard because the magazine is behind the trigger frame, but this would be a really cool mod!

Re: Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

The SA-80 is an unreliable weapon, prone to jamming.
Why would you want your marker to resemble such a weapon?

That was the case with the Mk1, but they've now had the Mk2 in service for years. Very reliable and accurate.

Re: Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

i love the SA-80 and i shoot the cadet version (not semi-auto) at school and i would give alot to have an SA-80 paintball gun, and i think the best bet would be to use an airsoft body, however i can't seem to find one in the uk because of the stupid VCR laws

Re: Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

I think this would be doable with some engineering. And besides, the SA80 has been more or less revitalized and much upgraded upon by Heckler and Koch.

Re: Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

Arkady, Derf - as you seem to be pretty familiar with the SA-80...why do I see references here and there to the weapon being dangerous to fire from the left shoulder? Are we talking a fixed ejection port in a bad place, or something else?

/random semi-offtopic posting.

Re: Sa-80 stock/foregrip/shroud

Mostly it's an issue of the spent casings being ejected into the user's face, hence it's kind of a righty weapon. There have also been concerns voiced that you essentially have an explosive action (primer and powder ignition via a firing pin) going on right underneath where your cheek is situated. I've never heard of a chamber blowing up on a bullpup, so I suspect it's a moot issue. Also, it's not exactly comfortable shooting a bull-pup 'from the hip' either, as the hot brass will also be ejected into the side of your arm and even the arm-pit depending on the type of rifle. Not an issue if you're wearing a full sleeved jacket, but a t-shirt, no! The Steyr AUG allows for brass ejection port to be switched to right or left side, depending on the shooter.

BTW, the upgraded and current issue version is actually called the L85A2. The SA80 references to the early prototype versions.
