6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

Howdy all.
When I first bought my Tippmann A5 it came in a package. This package included an R/T, a Flatline Barrel, and a Car 6-Position Stock. I got it all put together except for the stock.

As I tried to install it, it did not fit at all. I tried to jam it in there even, but to no avail. I took a knife to it to shim it down, and its still being a pain in the butt. I eventually broke the top piece for the bolt, so now I have a worthless stock. I hear though that there might be a lifetime warranty on it if its a Tapco or something? Anyway, any insight as to why it wouldn't fit or about the lifetime warranty would be nice.

Re: 6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

It's made intentionally tight so that it doesn't wobble. Did you try and loosen the allen bolts on the rear half of the marker before installing it? That will slightly split the receiver halves apart, and allow a little more space for the stock to fit in.

I doubt they will warranty something when it's been modified it by cutting it with a knife, I don't think warranties are valid if you modify the item.

You can try returning it, but it's unlikely that it broke from a manufacturers defect. I think that's the stealth package you purchased and everything is designed to go together. I have 2 friends that have the same setup, no problems with theirs.

Re: 6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

They will see cut marks and realized that it was an attempt to modify to fit.

If theya re anything like tippmann though, then they won't have issues replacing it. You can easily get a replacement on ebay for like $20 or better yet, on here.

Re: 6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

You could try high strength epoxy to put the top tab back on. Certain epoxies work really well with harder plastics. Be careful gluing it back together as you might put too much and have the extra job of filing it down to fit (square 1). Let us know what you end up doing. Good luck.

(I've had to install my CAR stock with the following equation: hammer + brute force + anger = )

Re: 6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

yea I am going to hit up the epoxy, anyone you guys recommend? Also I am tempted to go out and purchase a plastic welder or something of some sorts. I have a stock from a friend that he glued back together and I would like to maybe smooth over crack, also being an avid moder I feel that a plastic welder would be great for my mil-sim mind.

Re: 6 Position CAR Stock Not Fit?

I've heard good things about JB Weld.

And funny enough, I saw Mighty Putty on TV the other night. Seems good...or too good.

Whichever you use, clean your halves well and give the epoxy enough time to cure properly.

Good luck.
