Looks pretty straight forward, thanks for the pics. Guessing the mechanism is ho-made. have fun getting that damn little spring for the lid back in, its a pain in the hoo ha lol.

That's strange... I didn't have a problem putting my spring back in. You can slip a piece of paper under it and pull up while you shove the lid back into it, and you shouldn't have any troubles.

didn't he tape the lid onto the side with the spring so it doesnt even come apart? or am i thinking of a different mod?

4mm is ideal, just to keep the lever/trigger from flexing or breaking. I'm sure you can use something thinner, but it might not be as strong.

You don't have to use a "black" plastic either. My router box was a cream color & I just painted it black with some Krylon Fusion I had laying around.
