Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

You can have your autocockers. I would take a Tippy anyday. The money and time that I have in my A5 is part of the reason that I cannot let go of it. I have bought and sold many markers but I still have my first A5. It is like fixing up your first car.

Welcome to A5OG!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Tippmann A5's have soul! She's like the wife you've cheated on with newer, faster girlfriends...but she still stands by you, reliable and tough, loyal and strong. Because you've been through the worst and no one understands you better.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

I couldnt even count how much i have put into my A5, worse part about it... I have bought 4 A5's in the past 6 months. plus an ion and a pistol. Lets just say I love trying all the different aspects of paintball. but most of all i love trying out everything with the a5. in less then a year i have spent $1000's on paintball. and I only started playing last summer. But I will use and choose my main A5 over any other marker any day.

oh and my next venture in the paintball world is going to be a pump

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

tippmann in overall... it's very good. Except for the new paint finish
I love Tippmann because it's so easy to mod with plain tools by hand.
It's quite easy to disasseble and it's like others said, like fixing a car.

I've spent about 500,- on mods. Expensive but worth the quality.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

So grant it that my tippmann is still pretty much stock (full cyclone kit is on the way) what discouraged me from getting a spacegun was the sheer attitude the speedballers gave the tippmann owners here in malaysia. Spaceguns can keep their shiny paintcoats, I like a marker that works without spending $2000.

Amen to that Viper.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

It's well worth the money wouldn't you agree? Modding a Tippmann is half the fun! We could all buy a $800 space gun but it would never be as reliable as a $800 Tippmann.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

I personally find the tinker factor to be the priceless thing here. The A5 is the first marker I've ever learned to completely disassemble. Being able to do that, and then take bits of knowledge gleaned from my teammates, as well as this board, I feel I have invested not just money, but quality time and care into my A5. Tuning in my Palmers Stab, polishing the internals, debating barrell choices, modding the cyclone; all of these things have been fun and kept me entertained even when I'm not at the field. It all feeds the hobby. Because of my adventures with the A5, I have had the courage to take on things like my 2k 'cocker / pump conversion, and to do all the upgrade work on my PMR myself. I like playing in general, and I have a marker for literally EVERY style of play, but I have a special place in my heart for my A5, my first project.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

The thing with the A-5 is that you can mod it so that it fits YOU and your own style and personallity. Weather it be you go milsim and make it look like one of your personal favorites or you go proformance and make it proform like sickly, it's all based on your ideas. Since the A-5 have hundreds of modifycations, you can make it what ever you want. With that being said, I think my A-5 is worth every penny of that $1000

I'll never forget the time I went to this Areana, I was getting my gun chronoed with like 10 speed kids, my age. They had mini's ion's and rails oh and one had an e-cocker. When it was my turn, the ref's started flipping out. They were all like Damn I've never seen a walkable tippmann before, they all started shooting it and everthing. When we did a test, It out shot the ion and was a little above the cocker as well. That was one of the best moments I've had in paintball, nobody said anyhitng bad about tippmanns for the rest of the day. PRICELESS.

Re: You spent how much on a TIPPMANN?!?!

I agree. I hve spent well over $1000 on my A5, not inluding the price of the gun and ahve spent an additonal $500 working on additional "odd" A5 projects. With the money I spent on my A5 I could have bought a SL74 or DM8. Though, I enjoyed building the gun for fun and I enjoyed learning how to build guns. I LP'd my a5 and 98c, as well as a spyder. After I learned how to build a gun and understanding of its workings, that is when I took the dive and bought an etek and ego8.
