8" versus 12" apex ready bigshot

Would there be much difference in performance between the 8" and the 12" Lapco apex ready bigshot? I love my 14" bigshot and have an apex already, but I'm not a big fan of the stock barrel with my apex. Thanks

Re: 8" versus 12" apex ready bigshot

The 12" will be very slightly (we are talking a few shots) more efficient. Thats about it. It will be just as accurite. The stock apex barrel, the actual barrel is the stock BT4 barrel, which isn't very good.

All personal prefferance, get which one you like more.

I read somewhere that smartparts has released an apex ready version of the All American barrel.

Re: 8" versus 12" apex ready bigshot

The shorter the barrel the more efficient. Less barrel means less distance it has to travel with drag to bet out of the barrel at 280 FPS.

Chrono your marker, with a longer barrel. Swap it for a noticeable shorter one and you will see the FPS go up.

Thanks, I'm looking to get the most accuracy, if there isn't much difference I'll go with the 8".

Re: 8" versus 12" apex ready bigshot

I run both the 8" and the 12" standard/non-Apex ready Bigshots. There is no difference in the accuracy between the two, but I do get slightly more range out of the 12".
