Re: What should I get with $75?

you could find a used mask for aboot $40-$50, and still have enough cash for say.... "TechT Squishy Paddles"

Imho.... squishy paddles are more important than the Vortex Mod because well sure the Vortex mod will solve the problem of your ratchet breaking. But, what good is a metal ratchet if all your paint gets damaged before it even leaves your barrel.. plus its like 20 bucks less then the Vortex

Re: What should I get with $75?

Ya if i had the chance again, i would have bought a used mask. I needed one at the event because i was fogging like crazy.

Im going to hate to say it but PBNation has masks out the wazo. Browse around and your bound to find one for a decent price.

getting back on some real upgrades, the vortex and squishy paddles are the only onles you NEED. the QEPH and lightning rod are mostly for high ROF.

Re: What should I get with $75?

Yeah I don't even think I can get the rate of fire that would fully use the QEPH and lightning rod with R/T, even super R/T, does anyone know how much a super R/T would cost because, I will have a little left over after buying the techt mods?

Re: What should I get with $75?

You really have to determine that answer yourself.. .Depending on your style of play.. Or the most needed of the three.

What kind of mask are you currently using?

Do you perfer a high rof?

How acessable is HPA where you are from?

Seriously, go buy a good mask. The JT-Proflex's are very comfortable. They are also great on not fogging up and are light as all get out. The only problem is lens changing isn't easy but it's not a huge deal. You only need to do it once in a while. They run around $65 now which is a great deal. If you're willing to fork out a little more money, look at Grillz. I love mine to death.

Your gun is always fun to upgrade. But really, if you can't see, you can't play. You're not going to hit anything with a fogged up mask, no matter how accurate your marker is. Also, you won't be on the field as long with an uncomfortable mask. Get a good mask. You won't regret it.

Re: What should I get with $75?

Okay I think I'm gonna go with Marmaduke on this one because I have never really had problems with my cyclone, and I don't have the need for high rates of fire, I am mostly a 1 shot 1 kill guy. So you would recommend the grillz, because I was looking at the profilers as well?

Re: What should I get with $75?

The Grillz are the Profilers big brother. I've worn both extensively, (Grillz for playing, profilers for reffing) and have to say that both are excellent masks.

Of the JT's, Vforces, and Protos that I've owned, the Vforce's and JT Proflex's tie for first.

The Grillz look a little more badass than the Profilers, have a soft bottom and are lighter. Comfort wise, they're about the same but you notice wearing the Grillz less as they are lighter.

When buying a mask, go to a shop and try on all the ones there. Pic out the one the one that's most comfortable. The first pair of JT's I owned were horrible. Gave me a headache everytime I put them on. I've used some proflex's recently though and they have been great. VERY LIGHT!!!

Mostly, it comes down to comfort.

The JTs and Vforces both have great len's. Only thing is that the Vforce lens's are easier to remove.

The Dye I3's are good masks too. Also really comfy. They're a little heavier than the Grillz though and lens removal is nearly impossible.

Buying any of these would be my recommendation. None should have problems with fogging. I'd also buy new. You don't want someone elses sweaty headband and foam on you.

(in no real particular order)

-Grillz
-Profiler
-JT Proflex
-Dye I3
-E-Vents

Get the Vortex Mod and eliminate the worry of broken ratchets in the future ... A CO2 expansion chamber ... and search for "Sling Mod" ... that should be $75 and still be under budget
