Need help to choose nitro tank!

My b-day is coming up, and I am hoping to split the price of a nitro/compressed air tank between me and my pa as my gift.

I honestly do not know what tank i want, because they're are so many different kinds.
I am looking for one that can fire as much as a 20 oz CO2 tank, and is about the same width. I have a vest that snuggly fits a 20 oz Co2 tank, so I need a nitro tank that is roughly the same fatness.

Much thanks!

Re: Need help to choose nitro tank!

i think all hpa are bigger then a 20oz co2 except maybe a 45/4500 tanks. A 45/4500 gets less shots then a 20 oz

Re: Need help to choose nitro tank!

Its gonna be a tough finding a HPA tank the same size as a 20oz. You would be better off getting a bigger tank and sewing a bigger pouch/loop on your vest to hold the bigger tank. Either way, Duff hit it dead on when he said Tomq is the man your looking for. If anyone can fix you up... he can.

Re: Need help to choose nitro tank!

Quick rule of thumb for figuring out how many shots you will get out of a HPA tank. With tanks that hold 3000psi you multiply 10 by the size of the tank (ex. a tank that is 3000psi and say 68 cu in will get you around 680 shots...10*68=680)

For tanks that hold 4500psi you multiply the tank size by 15 (ex. tank that is 4500/68 will get you around 1020 shots 15*68=1020)

A 4500/68 HPA tank is probably your best bet if you looking to get the same amount of shots as you would a 20 oz co2 tank.

Re: Need help to choose nitro tank!

Yes. so far everything stated is correct. In order to get the same omount of shots as a 20oz, you will need a larger pouch. or run the tank on gun, maybe with a drop forward. Measure around you 20oz, and send me the measurements. I can tell ya that you definitely don't want a 48/3000, unless your fill station is near by, and you do not use a lot of paint per game.
