Real mag or paintball specific one?

I'm thinking about mounting a mag on my A-5, purely for looks. Looking at Special Ops and Opsgear, both sites have M4 style mags for the A-5, but they're pretty pricey. Considering I want it just for looks, is there any point in getting one of these $50+ mags?

Opsgear has a mount thing to put a real M16 mag on the gun for $10, plus I could get a real M16 mag from a local gun shop or from Cheaper Than Dirt for less than $20. Is there any reason not to go with that option?

Thanks,

- Jen.

Re: Real mag or paintball specific one?

depends what you are really after, i myself don't like making my marker to go for realistic looks, but if i had to choose id go the opsgear mount for real magazines, because if you get bored of it you could always mount another type of magazine to it

Re: Real mag or paintball specific one?

Do you want to put stuff in the mag? Do you want it to be air-through, or do you eventually want to put a regulator or expansion chamber in there?

If so, you may want to check out the mags on Spec Ops or Opsgear. A real mag will give you a real headache when you try to mod it.

On the other hand, you could probably get three for the price of a replica, so if you're into it, go for it.

Re: Real mag or paintball specific one?

I agree with tybalt, if its just cosmetic looks you're going for... then go the bracket and steel mag.

Re: Real mag or paintball specific one?

Thanks all

I wasn't planning on doing an air through mag, or storing stuff in it. I would like to get a regulator, but someone posted up here a very cool way to mount a female Palmer behind the cyclone using a Lapco offset, so I think I'm going to do that when the time comes instead of putting it in the mag.
