I'd go with the OD myself... they all come black anyways, & I just don't really dig all Khaki.

Re: Painting the A5

Here is an airsoft AUG done by me in tans just last night.
Something to think about, and it gives you a good idea about where to tone things, and where to add pattern and so forth. Hope you like it.

Re: Painting the A5

That's air brushing I assume? Nicely done. I don't have a steady enough hand or skill for that matter for airbrushing....that's why I cheat and just dip it! haha

Re: Painting the A5

Haha, yeah it is airbrushed, but its not as hard to get these results as you might think.
It takes some getting used to, but I had never used an airbrush before 6 months ago, in my life.
But airbrush setups are not the place to skimp on when it comes to quality. As the old saying go's...
"you get what you pay for"
Certainly is the case with airbrush's.
Here is the setup I use.

Iwata "Kustom TR" with a Sparmax 5000 compressor.

Re: Painting the A5

True for the most part, but u can usually get a decent siphon or gravity feed airbrush for $50 bucks or so at any local model shop or arts and crafts store. Badger brushes are good quality and are abundant at car show swap meets(especially the ones that have model car shows too). And can be run on any compressor with a quality regulator(10-15 psi max but go with feel). Water traps are recommended but not nessecary if u bleed your tank regularily and the humidity is low(ie. dont paint in the rain lol). If anyones interested i can do a guide on converting the air line to mate up with an everyday compressor quick disconnect. Please Dont take this as any kind of hack on Warcowboy's setup, Its gorgeous and for someone who uses that kind of equipment regularily and with his skill a great investment.

Re: Painting the A5

Intresting about the gravity feed deal. Never messed with one. And as for the PSI, Im baffled about that part, as I use no less than 40-50psi, depending on what Im doing with the brush.
As for the regulation, it is important, but so is the reserve pressure tank, as it makes the spray consistent.
But I would have to look into the deal your talking about to make any real advice for or against it.
Thanks for your compliment none the less.

Re: Painting the A5

Appreciate it dbug!
Its a style Im experimenting with, and its actually not to complex since its all free hand.
And to boot, it saves a lot of time rather than worrying with stencils and all.
Don't get me wrong, I like the stencil patterns, but its nice to change things up from the norm, from time to time. I have a few ideas on the next one I do that will be something similar, but I will be adding at least one or two more colors to the mix.
