Re: HPA vs C02

I recently purchased my 72/3000 for like $60.00. I like the constant flow. I have played with both CO2 and HPA and prefer the HPA over CO2. I have also purchased the big HPA bottle for D-Day in Oklahoma. That is the 110/4500 bottle. I fill the bottles at the FD for free and the CO2 cost to fill. So I am all for the HPA bottles. I do keep my CO2 bottles full and on hand if needed. LOL

Re: HPA vs C02

I thought about going with HPA but there is nowhere that I have found that I can get the tank filled.

HPA tanks already have a reg in the nozzle so technically you don't need it. However, double regs can boot consistency provided there's a decent pressure drop between them, say 100 psi or more. But the second reg will also help if you ever need to switch between HPA and CO2.

No contest. The goods far outweight the bad with Compressed or Nitro

Re: HPA vs C02

After years of being a loyal Co2 user I made the switch to HPA for a few reasons some are stated in the before posts.

Price - They have come down to a reasonable price for the average person
to save up and buy. I will be splurging on a 80lb scuba tank as well.
For 7$ or free if I can bother Firenoid5 for free air I can play
for a few days now off the scuba tank.
Some fields have play all day for 5$ for HPA while it's 7$ per 20oz
Co2.

Mechanics - More constant per shot and not effected by hot / cold like
Co2 is. (Seen many of Co2 bottles blowing there safety valve
waiting to play with the local National Guard unit)

Weight - 68/4500 carbon wrap tank full weighs almost the same as a 20oz
Co2 tank empty. Give or take. This is best guess as my HPA tank
is on my back now and not hanging off the marker.

Environmentally safe - As per told by Rex at one of our local sporting goods
store.

Guess one can nickel and dime it one way or the other. For me am glad I went HPA. Best use of my Economic stimulus act of 2008.

Re: HPA vs C02

I use HPA because of the consistancy in my velocity. In Ontario it cost $6 to fill my 38/3000 each time I played so I have recently picked up (2) scuba tanks and a fill station. It costs $7 to fill each of the scuba tanks and I can get between (8) to (10) bottles from each! Cost baby Cost!!

Re: HPA vs C02

I switched to HPA because I played through the winter, and CO2 wasn't working very well.

Re: HPA vs C02

I've been playing with Co2 since I bought my A5, Feb 08. I've noticed sporadic accuracy at best. I borrowed a buddy of mines HPA tank and tried it out. I'd have to say the HPA shot more consistant and the weight was slightly lighter. We have a PB shop near by that charges $1 per fill air or Co2, so fill up cost is not an issue. My friends however tend to run out of air faster than my Co2 when we play at our local field, so that is a concern. I read a lot about the Palmer Stabilizers and fought about which direction I wanted to go. I decided to get a Palmer Female Stabilizer and try it out. I figure if I want to turn over to HPA in the future, I'll have dual Regs. I live in So. California where the weather is usually nice, so I don't have to deal with extreme conditions. I'm hoping I've made the right choice.
