| Re: HPA vs C02 My first choice would be HPA, I simply have much better consistance in my shots. But, however, not to dismiss CO2 I do have two 20oz tanks to run with when I'm in a place where there is no other option. Still shoot ok but just a little better with air. Who knows maybe it's just me. When it comes to weight, ehh not an issue since I'm on a remote. |

| Re: HPA vs C02 I started out on CO2 (3 -5 $'s a fill depending on where I went) and then I decided to make the switch so I kept watching Ebay for some used HPA tanks..the tanks alone were pricy but I was able to pick up two package deals from ebay (included a marker, an hpa tank, a remote line, and a pod pack - I picked up two of these, 1 with a 98 and 1 with an A5). I was then able to remove the peices from the packages that I wanted (I kept the A5 and both hpa tanks and 1 remote line) and resold the rest and I was able to just about break even on the swap. So if you watch ebay you maybe able to score a used tank as part of a set for a great price and then resell what you don't want/need. The only real investment was the scuba tank (75$ from craigslist and it has a current hydro til 2011) and the yoke (30$ new on ebay) that allows me to fill the HPA tanks. This is great b/c my son and I both play every weekend so we're going through at least 2 tanks a week and when we were on CO2 that was really adding up quickly. but now it doesn't matter how much air we use b/c the fill station is in the back of the Jeep : ) AND I can get my scuba tank filled for 6$ so each bottle is costing us pennies to fill.. a great deal if you can afford the start up cost (in my case it was a little over 100$). | Re: HPA vs C02 Been on co2 for years. Have two 20 lb bulk tanks that I refill five 20oz, and seven 12ozers from. ( I have 3 markers) But just switched to HPA. I wanted to buy a scuba tank and fill station but was told that I need a "dive certificate" just to buy a scuba tank! That's what they told me at "Sports Chalett" here in Vegas. I could probably find a scuba tank on Craig's list as you did but who/where do you suggest for bulk fills? And for $6 bucks....what a deal!! Actually, I'd gladly pay more, just don't want to hassle a certification course. Been paying $30 for a 20lb co2 refill. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks much Scoreshot

| Re: HPA vs C02 The local paintball shop here fills my scuba tank for 6$ (it's the same rate whether they're filling a small HPA bottle or a scuba tank (doesn't make sense). I'd also check around for a scuba shop (if there aren't many paintball shops around) most places that will sell you a tank can also fill it for you (assuming it's a real scuba shop and not just a bulk sporting goods store). Never heard of needing a cert just to purchase the tank - what if it was a gift for somebody? Sure sounds like some sort of scam to me... |

Thanks for the reply Phrog, Ya I thought it was kinda strange needing to be scuba certified just to purchase a bulk tank. It was a sporting goods store here in Vegas. I'll check out some dive shops. Thanks again best regards, scoreshot

| Re: HPA vs C02 Ive seen on a couple of sites nitro tanks but, of course none of the fields I go to have nitro refills. Is there a difference between nitro tanks and HPA tanks? They seem to have the same ratings to me

| Re: HPA vs C02 CO2, because its the only thing available....and we only have one place to fill that too. I live in a smaller town (25,000) and i'm shocked how little paintball stuff is available to us. I was considering opening my own shop/arena for a long time.
