Front Grip Rail

After adding the PPS Stabilizer, I noticed that my front grip doesn't seem to be as far forward as I would like to grab comfortably (modding NEVER ends!). So I was thinking I probably need a front grip rail that will extend out further than the stock rain will allow without cutting the receiver halves. Do they stick out further? And if so, how big are they vertically? I don't want a massive block of metal on my gun.

Re: Front Grip Rail

You could always get some weaver dress for your barrel and attach a weaver grip to that.

Re: Front Grip Rail

I'd rather not go that route for several reasons. All I need is like another 1/2" - 3/4" for the grip to be perfect.

Re: Front Grip Rail

Well, you could always cut an oak block and screw/bolt a grip into it. That would be the cheapest way.

Re: Front Grip Rail

the opsgear tri-rail might move a picatinny foregrip up just a little bit. other than that, you maybe have to shave the front lip.

Re: Front Grip Rail

A barrel shroud with rails is really your best option. It will allow you to place a grip in a much more comfortable location.

Re: Front Grip Rail

im assuming you have the grip as far forward as possible, so unless you buy some kind of mount that goes over the front lip you would have to shave it to effectively mount a rail, to mount a front grip farther forward.

Re: Front Grip Rail

You could move it forward maybe an inch or so if you mount a rail where the stock grip is. But personally, I find it much more comfortable to have the grip a few inches further than that. I suppose it's all a matter of personal preference.
