Re: A5 Scar Mod

I don't think it's possible to convert X7 stocks to A5 without serious machine work.

that is kind of a stretch, but i think its possible. Maybe see if there are any kind of adapters for the a5 or x7.

Re: A5 Scar Mod

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that the only difference was that the X-7 stocks had a more elongated bottom adapter tab (the rectangular one as opposed to the circular top one) or that something was different with the bottom tab. So, wouldn't it just mean that you'd have to shave off/modify part of that tab? Of course, an air-through stock probably wouldn't work at all because it probably relies on that tab's shape.

At least that's what I thought because people used to wedge A-5 stocks in X-7s and I thought that all that was off was that there was a gap at the bottom because the tab was shorter...

I'm probably way off though...

Re: A5 Scar Mod

I know for a fact that the X7 bottom tab is longer than the A5's. Im not sure about the top. But the cylinder that goes into the body will be the same size. So all you really need to do is modify/cut the plastic pieces. Specifically the lower and upper tab is the upper tab is different.

Depending on how the stock is put on the x7 adapter, you may be able to mod it to fit an A5 endcap.

Push pin holes may also be different.

Re: A5 Scar Mod

Before going thru all that drama, contact the makers of that very cool stock and ask them if the are planning an A5 version.

The X7 stock mount is a lot different, it has air-thru built in.

The SCAR stock looks like it will allow enough drop so you can use your sights maybe?

Edit: Ok, maybe not. I read their whole website and they seem X7 centric.

And, lets see who can post pics showing the differences first!

Re: A5 Scar Mod

Also the X7 is wider in the rear than the A5. I am not sure about the positioning of the pin holes.
