I know Palmer is good but I'm Canadian and the cost of shipping over the border is down-right retarded...

And do regulators give room for the Co2 to expand?
I don't know. Search the forum for "Fatty Stabilizer"

Re: Expansion chambers????

A Palmer's stab has a relief valve which eats liquid CO2 for breakfast.

And, CousinVin, the Fatty is also made by Palmers.

Re: Expansion chambers????

Do a little research on the Palmer's stab. It is more than just a regulator. As far as expansion chambers go, I say go for it. The real noticeable difference to me was on cold days. I ran a expansion chamber and a remote hose. On cold days, I was having way less problems with a freezing gun than other A-5 guys were. Seeing how you live in Canada I'm guessing you know a thing or two about playing in the cold. The key is to some day get HPA but, for some of us its just not practical right now. By the way an Xchamber is a fairly affordable upgrade. The Tippmann one for an A-5 is only like $40. A Palmers stab is probably going to be $110 plus shipping.

And I say save the money for a quality regulator. An expansion chamber looks like a good solution initially, but in reality it's not that great of one. While it may give room for expansion initially, prolonged firing will still allow liquid into your gun, and eventually the expansion chamber will be no use whatsoever.

I also want to mention that running an expansion chamber from remote air is not really necessary, as the remote itself acts as a big ole' expansion chamber on its own.

Bottom line, an expansion chamber will eventually stop working. A regulator will not.

Re: Expansion chambers????

I looked at some prices... One site had a Palmer Male stabilizer for $95 Canadian without shipping... Although it was nickel plated. They also had a Female stabilizer for $65 and another stabilizer also for I think $65.

Those were just stabilizers too. Then I would have to buy a new hose and probably a gauge... I'll just say that the total for me would probably be around $150 or maybe even more... I might as well just buy carbon HPA tank...

Then again I need a job before I can get either of them :P

K, thanks. I didn't know that.

And Vinny13, The stab would be a better idea before the HPA tank. I bought mine used from a guy on this site for $90 with gauge, line, and he even provided me with an ASA. A stab will keep your fps, if adjusted correctly, i have even heard of it staying +/- 2 fps. It is well worth the investment if you have the money. If not, i do have the expansion chamber used if you are interested. PM me about it. I don't know about shipping to canada though. still. PM me.
