Has anyone chopped a J&J ceramic barrel?

Probably a stupid question....... but, I'm doing an M4 mod project on my A5, and I have a spare J&J barrel laying around that I am thinking about using for this, but it's a bit too long for my purpose so I'm wondering if it's possible to cut the ceramic barrel down a few inches or not without destroying it?

Im sure with the right cutting tools it could be done without much fuss. I'd prolly try shooting the J&J guys an e-mail and asking them just to be certain though.

I also hear there is a nice m4 front site and a spec ops tubular foregrip and m16 hand guard for sale in the bst section

Re: Has anyone chopped a J&J ceramic barrel?

Thanks, I've already got some parts coming, the only thing I'm missing is a AK sight rail cover and a M16 front sight assembly. I haven't bought the front sight yet, because I'm not sure whether I'm going to use the 7/8" barrel (J&J) or the 1" barrel yet. I'm tucking the handguards up tight to the mag-well assembly, so that will dictate the length of barrel I'll need.

Re: Has anyone chopped a J&J ceramic barrel?

A tube cutter (like for copper pipe) or hacksaw will work fine. I've trimmed several in this way including a J&J. The tube cutter will leave a small ridge so you'll have some clean up to do, but it's not difficult.
