Question Electro cyclone...When?

BT has had the Rip clip for how long now... When will tippmann make one for A-5's?
Has anyone figured out a decent mod to put a rip clip on an A-5? And yes i checked the search and only got the same question I just asked and people saying it could be possible but no builds or pics.
If anyone has done this please tell. I'd try myself but the price tags a little high for me right now to risk screwing it up.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

...one question...why? The cyclone system is still better IMO than the Ripclip. It offers the same thing, just no worries with batteries.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

Exactly. The Rip Clip was to give cyclone functionality to non-A5 markers. Not to give electronics to the Cyclone. There's no need whatsoever to make the A5/X7 cyclone electronic, other than some kind of "cool factor".

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

IMHO using excess gas to operate the cyclone is much more efficient than swapping out your 9volt batteries between games. Though I suppose if you had the skills it would be possible, but many members here wouldn't see any point to it at all.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

I would consider modding a ripclip for the a5. It would make it more air effecient for those that only get to refill air with 4-6 games in between each fill.

But buying a rip clip is a bit pricey for me right now. You would ahve to retro fit it onto the a5. So no bolt on pieces. Not sure how the ripclip feeds either. I just know it uses halo parts to move everything.

The one nice thing about the air cyclone is that it is coneected to the marker. it only feed when its fired.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

My buddy uses a reg 98 with a halo hopper and I have the A5. He can get maybe 10 shots more from his tank than mine. Both have 48/3000 tanks. So air consumption is very small.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

....as a counterpoint, 2 words/phrases for you guys:

Blender
Cyclone-not-cycloning

It's possible to buy one of these and easily put it on your marker, but it just looks goofy.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

Im not complaining so much about the workings or non-workings of the present cyclone, only the lack of option. After adding tech-t's ratchet, lightning piston, queph and softies and having difficulty still with chopping and non feed at low pressure(mostly sorted and tuned now) the option of a electronic Rip Clip style cyclone would have been nice and would be nice for future builds. And after those mods the price tag on a rip clip aint so bad.

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

Why have an electronic cyclone?
Because you can!

Re: Electro cyclone...When?

It is my understanding that the RipClip, unlike the Cyclone, is a true force loader (I.E., it keeps tension on a stack). Can anyone who owns a RipClip confirm this?
