| Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? This is what I would do: Tap some threaded holes into the stock to fit a very short weaver mount pad (Weaver 55, for example). You may want to grind down the bottom of the weaver pad a little, since this particular one has some arch to it. Apply a little JB Weld to the bottom of the pad, and then screw it into your stock with the threaded holes you tapped. Between the screws and the JB, that thing isn't going anywhere. Touch up with some paint to make it look pretty again. You may even want to sand the area of the stock being moded before doing any of it; may help the JB stick better. I use low gloss black engine enamal spray for my stuff. Mount a normal 1" scope ring to your new weaver pad; which will hold your regulator perfect. If ever needed, the regulator/ring could be removed with ease and would only leave a non-intrusive pad. I did something similar to my bros spyder, in the 'saddle' that sits over the top of it. Put the mount pad there just as descripted. Mounted his ASA there in a 1" ring, makes for a clean remote line setup. It's rock solid, sorry no pics at present. | Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? I have thought about this idea as well. I would suggest putting the regulator with the screw to adjust it facing towards the butt plate. Then drill a hole (blue dot) just big enough to fit the allen wrench threw to allow adjustment. ![]() As far as mounting the reg..... well I would pick up a regulator ring mount from palmers and drill/tap two holes (green dots), put a little loctite on the screws and then mount it like that. ![]() As for what reg to use, I would have to look first.

| Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? I've seen this particular mod somewhere already. Either over on the UMS forum or the Special Ops forum. I'm gonna see if I can find it. They basically did exactly what you are talking about, mounting an inline Stabilizer inside the dogleg stock, exactly where you've indicated it.

| Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? I copied this mod from someone but I can't remember who so I can't give credit where it is due. I did just as Invictus describes but since I used an inline stabilizer I mounted it with the adjustment screw pointed towards the marker since the input is at the top of the stabilizer. As a result, I didn't need to drill a hole in the stock to get access to the screw. To mount it, I drilled and tapped for 10-32 screws and used the regulator ring mount from Palmer's. I think that you will find that the stabilizer needs to be mounted a little more towards the center of the stock. Because it is a fairly tight space, I found that the macroline dictated the placement of the stabilizer. This is my first attempt at putting a photo in a post so if it doesn't work I'll try to fix it when I get home. ![]() Last edited by SkullKer : 12-20-2006 at 07:03 PM. |

| Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? Look for a thread by Pigdog entitled A-5 SR Scenario Rifle here on these forums. It's in the A-5 Photo Gallery section. There's a pretty good picture of the modified dog leg. I'll bump it to the top for ya. And don't think of it that way, think of it like this: great minds think alike. And there are alot of great minds on these boards when it comes to modding.

| Re: Dog-Leg air-through + Palmer stab? The only thing I would do different is use an inline stab and put it where SpecOps put thier block adapter/ quick release. Then I would run macro-line from there.

It allows you to actually use the sights or low profile scopes while wearing a mask.
