Re: First upgrade.

I've just starting into the game, my first hup-up was the paintball feeder. I changed the plastic one's for metal.
This TechT Paintball Vortex Mod voor Cyclone Feed System, is perfect for tuning the A5....

Yeah i vote the Palmer Regulator, although I dont have one, yet, i sure wish i did. My first, (and only ) upgrade was the Apex Barrel, I love the barrel although when snipering, if the other person has any chance of seeing you move then you cant really turn the end of the barrel or even adjust the ramp without the other person seeing you, so unless you know where someone is and they cant see you, the Apex barrel is just any other aftermarket barrel. I have shot over 4,000 shots through my Apex and not a single ball has broken so if you are looking at an APEX, you are buying a good barrel. but really, I would buy the Palmer Regulator first no doubt. and also, I would just leave the internals alone, maybe you could polish the inside but other than that, the stock Power tube seems to show just as much performance, or more for some other aftermarket powertubes. Polishing your internals reduces wear, and increases velocity by about 10 fps, give or take depending on quality of polishing, I will be polishing my A5 the day after tomorrow.

Re: First upgrade.

Palmer regulator is a must. I bought a smart parts linear barrel, works wonderful by the way, and target practicing with it (i don't have a palmer... yet) from somewhere around 70 feet away the inconsistancy was killing me you need a plamer regulator it is a NECESITY for an A-5.

Re: First upgrade.

to answers someone question earlier:

no, the palmer barrel will not make the paintball fly further. it will makeany paintball size fly more accurate and have less breaks. only the Flatline and Apex can add distance without elevating your aim.

the palmer stabalizer is the way to go. it will regulate you Co2 and once broken in (2000 shots) it will hold the consistancy of your marker better then anything else you can do with Co2. (can't do this with an exchamber)

you will also be able to control the PSI level of you marker, you can lower it. Tippmann don't usually need all 800 psi of whatever to operate. I have lowered mine to 550 PSI an dmy A-5 still works fine. you can also raise it back up if needed. weather you lower the PSI or raise it back up, it will keep holding a consistant output flow into your A-5. you will see greater accuracy and less gas/air consumption with every day of play.

skip the X-Chamber, they are all hype.
Palmer Stabs are the real deal, actually, anything by palmer is the real deal and worth every penny.

I heard you guys talk about break in period. What does the regulator do during the break in period? Does the FPS +- 20?? or what? Will it still shoot straight?

Re: First upgrade.

Break in refers to the time needed for the seals to full seat against the housing, and for the springs to "take their set"

Yes, this basically means that for the 2000 ( est. ) shoots your velocity will fluxuate more than once it is broken in. On my palmers, I only saw a flux of +/-10 fps ( 20fps total swing ) now I'm getting about 2. Does this mean you can't play, not at all. Just chrono a little slow, and check it a few time threw out the day.

Re: First upgrade.

indeed, you can also dry fire these 2000 or so shots to break it in, you don't have to shoot paint. if you have a 20oz of two sitting around and don't mind wasting the gas you can do it.

the fluxations you will get won't be any worse than without the palmer during the break in period.

Re: First upgrade.

I am ordering two palmer regs. One for my marker and one for the GF's marker. I have a Flatline on mine but I do want to try the Palmer Brass Barrel.
