Ok who's using HPA, LPK, and the RT?

I'm trying to make a decision on whether to use the LPK with HPA and a RT. I have it from a used gun and could just sell it but still am unclear on it's worth with my set up.

Welcome to the site.

HPA = High Pressure Air:

This is in reference to a tank which holds compressed air or "nitro". It’s what you can use other then C02 as a propellant. It actually has a lot of advantaged over C02, and it’s preferred by almost everyone who can afford its expensive initial cost. This cost can range from ~$65 & $215 USD, depending on the size and PSI of the tank. Size wise, I have seen everything from 40 CUI (cubic inches) to over 100 CUI. PSI are either 3000, 4500, or 5000 PSI tanks. The greater the PSI the more shots in the tank as per the same size lower pressure version.

LPK = Low Pressure Kit:

There is a low pressure kit put out by Tippmann for the A-5. It reduces the minimum pressure that the A5 works off of from around 650 to less than 450PSI. You are required to run a low pressure bottle and/or good quality regulators/stabilizers to run at this level of pressure. Its main purpose is to reduce wear on the internals and the paintball it self, while making the gun quieter and a little more accurate (due to a lack of recoil).

RT = Reaction Trigger:

It's Tippmanns answer to a non electronic e-grip. It recycles air/co2 and directs it to a piston which is behind the trigger. The piston pushes the trigger forward after each pull, which makes semi-auto fire faster and it has a "sweet spot" where if you hold the trigger the piston will keep cycling against the pull of your finger, giving you "fully automatic" fire. Like an E-grip. It is usually used for controlled bursts of fire, however. Players will see on average 8-12BPS on full auto in stock form, with over 15BPS being achievable with a "Super RT" upgrade. This includes using 1/8" ID tubes and fittings instead of 1/16 or 3/32 versions. I have one of these for sale. See my signature below, and click on the words to follow the link.

Re: Ok who's using HPA, LPK, and the RT?

Unless you already have every other performance mod known to man on your A-5, Id stay away from the LPK. There are other WAY less expensive mods which will increase the performance of your A5 way more then an LPK will. For example, you could buy your self a Palmer brass barrel and 4500 PSI HPA tank for the same cost as the Tippmann LPK. Not only will you be VASTLY more accurate with this set up VS an A-5 with LPK, but you will also be more consistent while being almost as efficient. IMO the LPK isn’t a worthwhile mod unless you already have everything else and really want that extra 2% out of your marker. There are MUCH greater gains to be had by getting other mods first (while being cheaper by far).

This post also goes to answer the original poster about weather or not he should get an LPK.

ANYWAY... to answer your question, Tippmann sells the LPK directly, but your best bet is to get it from a reputable dealer on E-Bay.
