Lighter Trigger Pull

Are there any mods or upgrade kits to lighten the stock trigger pull? RT and E-Grip triggers do not interest me.

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

Use the clicky pen spring mod. You will find several write ups on how to do this if you search for it. You can also replace the spring inside that bent little clip with a pen spring as well.

I do belive that T-Tech also makes a "hair "trigger kit. But I dont know if it works with a mech trigger.

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

Yes the hair trigger kit works with a mech trigger. But isnt that just for the pull length not how hard it is to pull?

You may be right, but if the trigger has less length of pull, would that not trip the sear faster and make the pull lighter? I just think about the old western movies when they say "Careful boy I got a hair trigger on this here, no fast moves!"

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

Thanks guys, I tried the trigger mod and while the trigger is lighter when uncocked, it feels almost the same as stock when cocked.

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

You can try lightening up the sear spring, but that may lead to faster wear on the sear and hammer. You should be able to do it as easily as the pen spring trigger mod you just did, just find the other spring that looks similar to the one you just replaced.

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

Thanks, but I don't want to do any mods that are going to increase the wear on any parts. It was very easy to do the spring mod even though it didn't really make a difference.

Re: Lighter Trigger Pull

Well the only way to make a trigger on an A5 ultra sensitive is if you have a Magnetic Trigger from Rythm Innovations or APE. But the downside is that you have to have an Egrip to use a Magnetic Trigger.

I use a Magnetic Trigger on my A5 and you can adjust them to be extremely sensitive. If you adjust a Magnetic Trigger properly, just the very slightest touch will set it off.

It seems to me that you want your stock trigger to be as sensitive as a Magnetic Trigger. The thing with a Magnetic Trigger is that it has no trigger spring as it uses multiple magnets instead. The magnets offer practically on resistance compared to a spring.

I am not sure, but it might be possible to make a Magnetic Trigger work for a stock A5 grip. If there was a Magnetic Trigger that has all of the same parts as stock A5 trigger, but instead the Magnetic Trigger uses only 1 magnet which would be placed in the same position as the trigger spring would go, then it might work.

I'll try emailing Rythm Innovations or APE and ask them if it is possible to make a non-egripped Magnetic Trigger.
