Question Does Bakemono's 98C/A5 Flatline need porting?

Okay gang, as AirH0g pointed out, I had mentioned doing some porting on the barrel shroud for the Flatline. Now I'm trying to decide if I need to do it or not. The porting is typically only done in the first few inches on the front end of the shroud. Also, the listed types of porting are the ones that I know can be done. Trying to put diagonal/45 degree porting won't work because the machinery can't cut it that way, not to mention I don't think it will look good.

So vote and give me some advice: No porting, vertical porting, horizontal porting, air-cooled (circular/holes), or other.

My .02 worth is the air cooling holes but it is your marker and you will have to live w/ the choice. Good luck. Sick marker man!!

Re: Does Bakemono's 98C/A5 Flatline need porting?

I was just thinking about using the vertical venting to carry the verical lines in the stock through to the front of the marker.

I had a free moment to mock something up. But this is along the lines I had been thinking.

It's hard to say...you can't really see the detail of your marker in that picture, but I like what In My Sights did.

Re: Does Bakemono's 98C/A5 Flatline need porting?

I think it would be too much, the slots look good in the back, then it tones down a little and through the body. To have it again in th efront I think would take away a little bit. If there was any though, most certainly the vertical venting would be best.

Re: Does Bakemono's 98C/A5 Flatline need porting?

I have yet to decide, but I think if I were to do porting, it would be either Vertical (matching the vertical slots elsewhere on the marker) or AirCooling Vents (matching the holes in the foregrip block). I don't think horizontal vents would look quite right myself, but put them in the poll as an option to see what everyone else thought.

Personally, I'm not really sure that it needs it. I really compare the feeling I have right now to that of a sculptor finishing a statue. If I take anymore off, will it ruin it?

I'll try to get some better pictures of it to post.
