What if Opsgear made an M14 Shroud or M14 EBR?

I would love nothing more than if Opsgear used their great full body shrouds with the M14 in mind.

Personally I would love either a modern style M14 shroud or the M14 EBR. (When I say modern style I mean like the one that one you see in Call of Duty 4).

I would buy it in a heartbeat!

Would you?

There is a guy on youtube who has an m14 shroud for the A5. I was trying to find it but I could not. Maybe you will have better luck. If I do come across it I will let you know.

Yea, I've seen that. Its not that expensive to get but requires modding to install it. Plus its the original version used to replace the M1. I would prefer a modern used variant, it would be more mainstream for today's audience. That and the current versions of M14s are just BA!

I tried using Opsgear's A-5 builder to see what I could do. The 416 Shroud, M4 Stock, and their rediculously expensive M4 10rd magkit that goes over the foregrip location was the best I could get to an EBR but still didn't look right.

I always liked the M14, but for paintball gun, that is too big for me. Would be good for WWII games though. You would get rep for that big time.

Re: What if Opsgear made an M14 Shroud or M14 EBR?

Just thought I would chime in and let you guys know there's several M14/M1A rifles that would make pretty cool conversions for A5s.

First, there's the basic M14/M1A. M1A is the current designation for the rifle from Springfield Armory (which is where I got most of these pics).

Then the M25 Whitefeather. Named in honor of Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Hathcock. To me, this is one of the best looking sniper rifles out there.

Then the M1A Loaded from Springfield Armory. Great for those who want a full-sized rifle look, but still want their rails.

The M1A SOCOM was the first attempt at a "shorty" M14. With a 16" barrel, it's a nice comprimise between range and CQB.

The M1A SOCOM II addressed the obvious need for the rails on the original SOCOM.

And finally, my favorite, M14 EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle). Probably the easiest to mod from an A5 or even an X7. There are even stocks from Vltor - Socom that come painted in Multi-Cam, khaki and green. Imitating one of these would probably be the easiest of all.

So, yes, the mods would be challenging. But if you want a unique modern rifle, I think the EBR would be amazing. Maybe I should get off my butt and make one!!!

Edit: found another pic of the M14 EBR and added it.

I don't know about Opsgear but I know C.B. Tactical is working on something for the M14. Just send them the parts and an idea of what you want and they'll build it for free. I'll be doing the same in the next few weeks as I want an M60E built and my best friend wants a SOCOM II done.

Reach out to Instantminority on the forum and he'll hook you up. Here's a link to their thread on the forum.

Re: What if Opsgear made an M14 Shroud or M14 EBR?

It would be cool if SOMEONE made an EBR. But Opsgear? Since they seem to be content making bulky, ugly, visually ambiguous stamped/folded steel shrouds, I'll pass. Somebody like Dhallak from ScenarioArms could probably do it right, but Opsgear would just do it half-arsed and then overcharge for it anyway.
