Re: What length barrel is best?

Personally I've tried 10" to 20" barrels and have noticed minimal if any difference in accuracy/efficiency from the 12"-16" range. Mind you my setup is stock. I run CO2 with a remote, no regs or expansion chambers. I get pretty much the same results shots per fill and accuracy from those barrels.

I do agree with the people on here that your playing style more than anything should dictate what barrel length you use. From what I've read/seen there isn't enough of a difference in "GOOD" barrels to say that one length is better than the other. I use a shorter 10" barrel for the simple fact that I play alot of urban/cqb matches and a longer barrel is more of a target than anything when I'm trying to clear rooms and shoot from limited cover. But like I said, thats just my style of playing. Just my $.02

Re: What length barrel is best?

Could not find a suitable thread and i did not want to start a new thread to ask one question, so i hope nobody minds that i post here. Anyways, i want to know how a barrel Length is determined? Is it the total length of the barrel once it's unscrewed or the actual length of the barrel that protrudes. I think i know which length it is but i need just clarify!

thats a great question. I got an "8inch" lapco bigshot and it protrudes 6.5 inched form the end of the marker... whats up with that?

I agree, 12" to 16" at most. 16" is even a bit long for my liking. I'm running a J&J Ceramic 12" Happy with it but have been thinking of trying a 14".

Re: What length barrel is best?

I personaly play with a 12" palmers brass, I'm very impressed with it. It's loud but very accurate. I like to play as a sniper also and I think that over 12" inches compromises stealth.. And I'm about to add an apex tip

It will look something like this:

I would suggest a pipe cutter to ensure that your cut is perpindicular to the bore. Makes a nice neat job. But I lke the idea..

Re: What length barrel is best?

I believe that it depends on the type of game your playing, I mean you can't be playing CQC with a 20' barrel right?.
