Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion………… Yes, it matters what barrel you have, for many reasons. Last edited by shartley : 08-13-2006 at 05:16 PM. |

The short barrels such as the HammerHead Shark Tooth (5") are generally best for positions that endure a lot of CQC type of playing style. A "ghost flanker" is generally more upright and a bit more active than just a sniper would be, so the length of the barrel doesn't have to be super long (which they shouldn't be anyways), but they also should not be so short that it takes away from the little bit of stealth this player needs when shooting from a concealed flanking position. |

| Re: What length barrel is best? True... So maybe a 10" thunderpig would be good? I guess it's all depending on the situation and the style of the player... If I were to be a "ghost flanker" I'd get around the opfor and then proceed to pummel them non stop using my cut down (3") stock barrel until I was eliminated. But that's just me... I guess then a stiffi would be pretty good for the ghost flanker then. |

A 12-14" barrel would honestly be ideal for a ghost flanker, and personally I would go with a 12" to save for that ultra mobility when needed, yet not sacraficing the needed "stealth" of your shots (even though it will not be silent, it will be less distinct sounding as a 3-4" barrel with no porting. If you are a great ghost flanker and can get around behind people without them knowing, the best thing is a barrel tag (no shots fired you see ).If money is an issue, just settle on a 12" J&J Ceramic for around $35-40...offers great performance for a substantial value. |

| Re: What length barrel is best? I don't think the thread was started as what looks best. Ea. person has what they think is the best. Technically the handgaurd has nothing to do with a barrel performance, so that point is invalid. The same amount of air is released with ea. shot. The difference in velocity comes down to how much is disrupted by the FVA. Of course as Monitor mentioned that all changes with a RVA. Let's just stick with the topic of best barrel and post why you think it's the best. I think any barrel that gets the task at hand done is the best barrel. ![]()

And very quiet! For a while, I had the ghost flanker confused with the Light Infantryman. Personally though, I'm going to have to stick with my Palmer Brass as the best barrel... EVER!!! lol. |
