Re: A-5 Spring Kit

I think there are benefits to spring kits, and probably good to have, and if nothing else, just good to have the extra springs around.

However, I have had good luck with just using an RVA (to increase or decrease the spring tension). JCS make a nice RVA and with a little modification (found on this forum) you could easily mount a stock to it.

I usually run with the front velocity screw flush with the inside of the power tube, and then just use the RVA to adjust the velocity. I think (not proven scientific fact) that using the RVA to adjust velocity may give a little more consistent fps readings at the chronograph!

Re: A-5 Spring Kit

I do not think there is much difference in spring kits. I have the Trinity but that is only that I got them on sale. Any kit that you buy will work. You usually get 4 springs and they are color coded to their stiffness.

Re: A-5 Spring Kit

I'm with Simmy952 and I don't see any difference in spring kits. I too have a trinity spring kit and I have never had a problem with any of them. I have never seen any spring kit with more then four also so I say just find a spring kit for a reasonable price and get it. To go with SemperFi I would say a good RVA is a must too and I agree a JCS is a good product and I have had no problems with it and the drop in fit perfectly.

Re: A-5 Spring Kit

Got the trinity springs myself. FOR THE MOST PART, a spring is a spring. You should be fine going with any of the aforementioned brands.
