hidden macro on a5?

hey i saw a recent thread about a hidden macro on a 98. this got me thinking about how i could do it to my a5 to have a macro line run from the asa into the grip and maybe even into the receivers and then out to the tomestone area? im not all that familiar with all the air fittings and everything, so an explanation of how this would or wouldnt work would be great. and if it would work, how i would go about doing it. thanks

Re: hidden macro on a5?

i havent seen that 98 yet. it would be a lot of cutting and such on the a5. if you look aroun dhere there are a bunch of a5s that run the macrolines ont he side of the gun and ahrdly noticeable. it runs from tombstone along the side of the gun attached by some homemade clips using the pushpins and intot he stock.

Re: hidden macro on a5?

you'd run into some big issues with connecting it to the tombstone because it basically forces the air line to be run from the out side of the marker in.

:edited for spelling per usual

Re: hidden macro on a5?

Running the macro on the inside would probably be possible, but for all the work you are doing, I don't think that it is really feasable, but I do like the idea, and will be looking into it in a little while to throw in a few thoughts. Good luck, I would love to see somthing like this work.

Re: hidden macro on a5?

right, well either i do it and make it work or do it and destroy my gun because i cant just go buy a new one because i dont have that kind of money. but yea, i was thinking of maybe just running the line through the grip then out towards the tombstone on the outside of the marker, but inside the grip frame. ill have to take apart the frame and see if i can fit it in there somehow. btw, what are the pros and cons of running a marcro line vs. the braded hose?

Re: hidden macro on a5?

I could be wrong on this, if I am, sombody please correct me. I believe the macro is a little easier to break in adverse conditions, due to it being a plasic instead of steel braided. It also can have trouble running CO2 if it is cold outside.

On to what I discovered, I need to know if you have RT or egrip or anything like that, b/c it will be more complicated with them. If you have the stock grip, buy the spec-ops air thru adaptor. From there, run the macro to directly under the safety, and drill a hole into the grip at a 45* angle into the rt space. From there, drill a hole on the inside of the grip to allow the macro to pass through the internals. To bring it out (assuming you are using the stock peice that bolts on to the bottom of the marker, minus the braided air hose) Take the grip apart if you have not already. You will see that angle that the angle of the bottom peice will foce you do drill the macro out the front of the grip, but that is fine, because it will be virtually under where your fingers go. Even for a guy with big hands, it will be ok as long as it is symmetrical, because your fingers will just go over it. So now you have your macro oon the front, outside of you grip frame. I do not believe macro can make sharp bends, so just make it a liht bend around the bottom of the grip to the air connection. Connect the macro to the bottom part, and voila. It's not perfect, but it is a start. If anybody has any other ideas, please share.

Re: hidden macro on a5?

I have a pic, but I can't seem to upload it. It is to large. Not in width and height, but in kb, and I don't know how to reduce.

Re: hidden macro on a5?

Macroline is plenty tough enough, I am a mechanic for the US Army and we use a similiar product for water and air lines on USA equipment, It is hard to make sharp bends, with any plastic line,as it will collapse and pinch closed, you can preform the line if you are careful by placing something bendable in the inside of the line and then heating, but too much heat will harden the plastic and make it brittle, My concern would be the passthrough of the grip.(trying to not interfere with sear or safety parts inside the grip.)
RAP4 makes a system that follows receiver along the right side and then goes into the tombstone from an air thru stock that looks pretty good.
http://rap4.com/paintball/os/rap4-ti...ck-p-2300.html
They use a small 180 degree fitting to enter tombstone, the stock has an expansion chamber in it. They seem to only offer this for car type stock.

80.00 and you get stock, line, fittings, and adapter, as well as an expansion chamber, not really a bad deal.

The line being completely hidden would look even better but you would have to be careful not to disable your marker during the attempt.

I would be interested in the Photo's if some can make this work.
