Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

Thanks guys. One off-topic question....what is this "mil-sim" I keep reading about. It obviously is short for something and means something, but I don't know what it is.

A-5's are very singular. I don't know why, but each stock one can perform very different from another. For example, I seem to have one of the mutants of the family in that I can get the muzzle velocity over 320 fps when many others I see have trouble just reaching 280 fps. I can also get nearly 600 shots out of a 47/3000 tank where most seem to peak around 500. Like I said, I don't know why this should be it just is. So, taking that into account I've seen and heard of A-5's that can operate just fine on less then 600 psi stock and I've seen others that struggle to get below 400 psi even with an LPK. Now, those are examples of extreme ends of the spectrum, but they do crop up. So, if you happen to have one of the latter, if you get a Fatty, you may not be able to use it. That's why I said you may be better off getting a normal Stab. Then you can get a LP spring kit from Palmer if you find you can get below that 400 psi mark.

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

What Powertube/front bolt combination is recommended most for use with the LPK?

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

Despite marketing hype, aftermarket front bolts do little to nothing for actual performance. Likewise, there's no reason to replace the stock power tube unless it's damaged or unless you want to get rid of the FVA.

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

I agree whole heartedly. There's really no reason to "upgrade" the stock bolt and power chamber, unless you're changing the actual function of the marker itself (i.e. getting the gold one so there is no FVA hole).

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

I see. I was hoping to put something a bit more sturdy in for the front bolt. Something with a softer tip. But if I don't need to then it's money saved for something else.

Thanks for the info.

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

19. I like the mod to mount a female stabilizer behind the cyclone. Do you think an LPK would work if it were split up and mounted similarly?
A. Absolutely. However, remember that the volumizer needs to be directly installed into the tombstone to work properly at the intended pressures.

I'm want to put my lpk back on my gun but i now have the A-5 A-2 air-threw set up. does the remote act like a volumizer? I've heard they do and I've heard they don't. i want it make it so that the lpk is off the gun, can this be done by adding an in-line stab on the remote and after the tank. or o i need to add a volumizer up close to the tombstone????

Re: The Comprehensive Thread on the Tippmann LPK

The volumizer is supposed to be like a reserve dump tank. On a stock bottomline setup there's not enough space in the air lines between the tombstone and tank nozzle to feed the extra air quick enough. The air in this needs to already be regulated so it can just feed right into the firing valve without anything else to pass through. Most remotes feed between the tank and the regulator so unless you have a low output HPA tank it wouldn't work. If you did put the secondary regulator on the other end of the remote then you're approaching the realm of a volumizer. However a true volumizer is right by the tombstone so the air doesn't have far to travel allowing it to dump faster. Even if you had enough volume in a remote line ( doubtful, ) I don't think it can feed fast enough to work.
