| Fit this stock to my RVA ? I have a JCS gold power tube and a RVA of course. I'm wanting a nice stock and I want to keep my gold powertube and rva set up though. I don't care for the JCS stocks. I just don't like the way they looks I'm sure there great stocks and work excellent. I think I have found a stock that will work with my rva with a little bit of cutting and drilling. I wanted to get the opinion of the board because the stock is high dollar as far as stocks go. I could buy a air through for like 10 more bucks but I want this one because its a sliding stock and looks like it would be easy to mod to my RVA. I have a JCS rva and I plan to cut off the tabs that the Field strip bolts slid through and the rear bolt thing sorry I don't know what its called, um spring retainer thing amabob? But any way I bore a hole the same diameter as the rva. Than I drill a couple holes in the bottom of the stock to line up with the rva's hole that the jcs folding stocks screws to. So in theory I can just slid the stock over the rva and drop the 2 screw in and maybe the plastic piece that jcs include with the rva. Do you guys think this will work good? I don't want to spend $104 butcher the stock and it not work. Stock Picture http://www.tippmannpros.com/images/OGSTKMP5A5LG.jpg Rva Picture http://www.hotshotpaintball.com/merc.../jcs-66209.jpg

| Re: Fit this stock to my RVA ? I think modding it will be easier. Drill the rear of the stock, throw a nylon spacer in there and then thread a screw through it. The nylon spacer will act just like a locking nut does if you size the bolt correctly. |

| Re: Fit this stock to my RVA ? Look up the SpecOps T2W stock. That's RVA compatible.

IMO: Drill a small hole through the back of the stock and tap it and install a set screw for adjusting the velocity. Figure out what size/length set screw you need, then go to Home Depot and get a tap kit (comes with the tap and the drill bit) for specific set screw that you want to use. If the set screw you need is extra long you may need to order it from McMaster or MSC. Unless the back of the stock is extra thick, you should only need one that is about 3/4" ~ 1 1/2" in length. You could just take the one out of the JCS RVA and use that. Should not be hard to find a tap for the JCS set screw. You could also take the nylon screw out of the JCS RVA that locks the velocity set screw in place and also tap a hole for that. That gets tricky so you might just want to use some Teflon or really lightduty lock tight which would prevent the velocity set screw from moving during play but not lock it too tight so you can’t adjust it. Counter sinking the receiver side of the hole that you tap and gluing a nylon bushing into it will also stiffen up the set screw and prevent it from coming loose. Tapping is not hard at all, but you will need a good bench vise and preferably a bench drill. Adam Last edited by ct_paintball_warrior : 06-11-2008 at 01:48 PM. |

Your correct, threaded steel bushing would last a lot longer. Make sure you scratch the outer surface of that threaded bushing really good before you use the epoxy, smooth surface and epoxy don't mix too well. If you do drill and tap a small hole for the velocity lock, use a nylon screw instead of a alloy one. You can screw it in and never touch it again until it wares down a bit. The alloy screw would have to be loosened and tightened each time you make a velocity adjustment. Good luck. |
