Sliding MP5 stock

Has anyone used the Opsgear slidign MP5 stock? Is it worth it, meaning does it function well and such? My girlfriend's MP5 look A5 needs a stock, and her choices would be the sliding one, the folding one, or a solid stock, if she could find one cheap enough.

She doesn't like used stuff, or I'd snag her something off of here. Oh well, it's her money I suppose.

Re: Sliding MP5 stock

It will work well, but it's an expensive one. If you are going for the look, then it's totally worth it.

For me, multi-position stocks look cool, but I found them only useful in the fully-extended or closed positions.

For that reason, I believe the folding ones are better priced and quicker to change from one extreme to the other so you can go to CQB and back in a hurry if your terrain changes.

Just some things to think about.

If I was getting one, I'd probably get the Folding PDW stock. It's only $50 compared to $110 for the sliding!

Re: Sliding MP5 stock

The comment about having them fully extended or fully in got me thinking. My two sons are a bit small to have their stocks fully extended. My 9 year old just asked to trade his folding stock for my M4 stock so he gets a better fit. It works out though. I like the folding stock just as much.

Re: Sliding MP5 stock

JCS makes a nice series of aluminum folding stocks with an RVA,
and a drop of about 1", you shouldn't need an offsite or raised rail.

Scary! I'm broke as is.

I looked at the JCS stocks before, I like em, but she's into making it look like a real MP5. She has the proteam/armson SD shroud on it, so it looks like solid or sliding is the way she wants to go. If anyone has a picture of a real MP5 SD with a folding PDW stock on it please send it to my email so I can show it to her. She watches too many movies so now she only knows what a standard SWAT style SD looks like.

Re: Sliding MP5 stock

Here's a link to a real MP5 folding stock for the MP5SD PWD. Opsgear sells a replica version seen here. JCS makes one very similar, this one. The bonus about the JCS one is it has a RVA.

Re: Sliding MP5 stock

The MP5 sliding stock is great.
It's actually made by Metadyne ind.
You can get more uses out the other positions depending on your needs.
