a5 stock mods

i have a question about how hard it would be to modify a g36 stock to look like something not that different. i cant find a stock anywhere that looks like an fn scar-l and the g36 stock has the same shape and folds in the same manner. so i was just wondering how hard it would be to make the g36 stock like that scar stock. i dont think it would take much but i know very very little knowledge in this field. thanks in advance.

Re: a5 stock mods

you could piece together a cover probably... or when someone says nice g36 stock say "no, it's a skeleton or wire-frame SCAR stock"

Re: a5 stock mods

If there is an airsoft model, you could easily modify it to fit over the g36 stock or retro fit it to the A5.

If there is no airsoft model, then you may have to shell out for a real model and retro fit it.

if you choose to just odify the G36 stock, then you could just use a lot of JBweld and sand everything down if you have some skill with sandpaper and an artistic vision.

Re: a5 stock mods

The SCAR stock is adjustable as well as folding IIRC...you'll have a harder time duplicating that.

I'm sure there are airsoft stocks out there which you could turn into a cover. Just remember to be sure it can still fold with the extra bulk.

Re: a5 stock mods

You wouldnt so much replicate the functionality of the SCAR stock if you decided to fill it with jb weld, just for the looks.

And yes that would be a lot of JBweld. It would definitely be tough. You could also use a lot of filler material of anything you want as well to reduce the amount of jbweld you would use.

Re: a5 stock mods

thanks for all the input. just for clerification i dont really care if it slides like the real thing i simply love the look of the scar and want my a5 to match. i do kinda like the jbweld idea lol, but i think i may just try and find an airsoft scar stock and modify it to fit my a5. shouldnt be to hard. thanks again guys! soon as i start the build i will post pix. only thing i ned now is money lol. any other ideas though? i am still looking.
