Crimson Aviator is on a distinguished road
Switching tombstones.

I have the commando foregrip and commando air through stock on my A5, and I am thinking of switching to the spec ops tombstone (SPECIAL OPS - A-5A2 TOMBSTONE) and using macroline rather than the steel braided hose I'm using now. My only concern is that this tombstone requires alteration of the receiver, and I've never done anything like that before. Is it difficult? Could I do it on my own, or should I seek assistance?

Re: Switching tombstones.

thats easy, just dremel with a cutting wheel. measure twice, cut once.

BTW: PM AirHog, his tombstones are better and possibly cheaper.

Re: Switching tombstones.

it's pretty simle... the tmbstione hole feeds directly into the powertube so you're not gonna have too much to to worry about if you're worried about leaks.

Re: Switching tombstones.

Like mentioned above...

measure, re-measure, get ready to cut, then re-re-measure, then cut...very slowly!!!

I agree with Duff; before you buy an inferior product...PM AirH0g, his stuff is much higher quality and better prices too.

If it's something extra-precise, I measure and check it thrice before cutting

Some things you just can't undo, and Tippmann would probably smack your wrist before sending you another receiver half. Best to do it right.

I suggest sending Airhog a message through his website, since his PM box here is quite often full, and he misses or loses some messages. Be persistent.

Re: Switching tombstones.

huh, "measuring," Maybe I should stop hugging my A5 before a risky mod and er...."measure".

I'll have to dig in the garage for my A5 in order to try this...Sooooo if people use a stock like the Rap4 stock with the tank in the stock, do they mod the tombstone like this to accomodate the tank on the back of the marker?

Re: Switching tombstones.

I don't think so... not 100% on how that thing works, but it does make me wonder.

you got a link to that thing? I was looking at it a while back but can't find it

Re: Switching tombstones.

One thing about AirH0g's tombstone is that you have to completely remove the tombstone well wall instead of a small 1/2" hole.

I drilled my own A2 tombstone when I first got my A-5. It's not hard to do, you just need a fairly steady hand and a round file. I can send detailed pics if you like.
