Re: E-bolted A5 nearing its completion

GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!

Get it painted or do it yourself it will look much better. I painted my old speedball marker. I just taped the trigger pretty well and sprayed away. It did not affect the trigger pull at all or just get it painted.

Re: E-bolted A5 nearing its completion

If you know how intimidators/egos/autocockers work it will be easy to explain, if not it took me severvals days of research to actually get a full grasp to understand the principles of electro pneumatics.

basically instead of a spring and hammer, it uses air and a ram piston. the air pushes a rod backa nd forth like the hammer goes back and forth. a solenoid activates 2 lines that will push the piston back and forth. one in front of the piston and one behind. the solenoid also allows exhaust of the air in the opposing cylinder. in other words, when there is air pushing the ram forward, the air in front of the piston gets exhausted to allow the piston to move fortward with no resistance(or little resistance). when the gun is done cycling, it reverses where the front chamber fills with air and the back cylinder empties its air so the ram will cycle back to its original position.

Basic parts for electropneumatics is:
LPR:this regulates the gas further, down toa obut 75 psi to operate the ram as to not damamge it and to help conserve gas. not a lot of gas is need only because there just needs to be enoguh tom ove the ram backa nd forth, not to shoot the ball.
Solenoid: This device has several ports. in this case i have a 5 way solenoid(1 input, 2 outputs, and 2 exhausts). The input is where the LPR is connected too and supplies the solenoid and ram with air. the 2 outputs alternate which is the "open" valve which will force air into one or the other using a piston and various airways in the solenoid. so only 1 output valve will be open while the other is closed. when one output is open, its correlating exhaust is closed. so when one output is closed, the exhaust opens to bleed the air from that line.
Board: you need a board capable of using an electropneumatic solenoid, The WAS and APE board for the A5 simply supplies to much power and would burn out the highend solenoid. its possible with some creative wiring, but i decided this route would be easier as im not a electrician.
Rammer: This is what isbeing manipualted by the solenoid and air. it moves back and forth inside a housing that contains the piston and air channels and push this rod backa nd forth. when the ram moves backa nd forth it also moves the bolt back and forth. the face od the rammer simultaneously opens and closes the valve the same way the hammer and spring method does whent he ram fully extends it pushes down on the valve pin therefore opening the valve and when it retracts it closes the valve while the bolt moves back.

One thing to ensure the cyclone operates during the cycle proces is the non blowback valve. its been overlooked several times by other EPA5 modders. But because the standard valve HP or LP valve has blowback gas that enters the chamber where the rammer is, it willn ot have enough presure to cycle the cyclone and lower velocity. the rammer doesnt need blowback gas to cycle the gun as its source come fromt he LPR and solenoid. So blocking the gas will create blowbackgas in the valve to force air intot he cyclone and increase velocity/effeciency.

I hope to get the video done once i get my ASA which still ahs not been shipped out...so it seems it will be delayed.

Re: E-bolted A5 nearing its completion

Did I mention I did all this with just a dremel, jb weld and files? I dont have any machinery equipment! I only got the ram machined by a fellow Pballer. everything else was done by hand and fabricated.

Updated with more pictures of it put together with its accessories! just missing the ASA and QD pin holes which will be done tonight.
