Select-fire A5 with pictures!

The ORIGINAL X7 egrip retrofitted A5.

This project was really easy to do and only took about a week to complete.
I cocked the gun and fired it without air and it releases the hammer properly. I will try it with air tomorow.

Here are pictures of the X7 egrip on my a5. (Please excuse the look of my a5 as it's undergoing a makeover.)
-I also made a "jcs gold member" using my redhot tube by taking out both screws and then filling in with jb weld.

Ignore the dorky asian looking fellow.

SOME INSIDE PICS TO HELP YOU DO THIS.

Re: Select-fire A5 with pictures!

Very nice! Still see some stuff that could possibly be removed on the grip (such as cutting the back off of the grip and making it flush with the back of the rear cap, but otherwise looks good! How well does it hold BTW?

I didnt cut off the back cause i only have very very basic tools and the closest thing i ahve to cutting the back piece off is a dremel and that will definitely melt the plastic. The grip is very solid...the holes arent lined up perfectly either. its so tight i ahve to force and wiggle the egrip back into place. The x7 egrip is a bit bigger than the a5 egrip so its not so comfortable for me though. otherwise i like the feel of it. It feels like it is part of the gun.

It took me no longer than 7 hours total. Most of the work came from making the brackets by hand using a dremel and hand files from a piece of angled 1/16th aluminum...(the same piece of aluminum i used for my ego frame project) The hole drilling was easy, except where i messed up and had to fill in the holes and had to redrill. Most of the time came fromt he JB weld drying otherwise I would ahve been done 2 days ago. The right side of the frame has a HUGE gap that I ahd to fill in with jb weld. Other than that it was very straight forward. The backet is primarily there to fill in the sides of the grip to make a tight fit and as a reenforcement because the plastic becomes weakened when you drill so close to the edge.

Re: Select-fire A5 with pictures!

That's awesome... Can't wait for video.

You could use just a hacksaw or bandsaw to cut off the excess plastic on the back. Or use a dremel, and leave some stuff to file down.

Re: Select-fire A5 with pictures!

I dont even have a band saw . the dremel melts through the plastic...i know cause i ruined my mech a5 frame to the dremel.

Who is the first person to try to retrofit a custom slect fire switch? I remember like a year ago someone tried to make a selectfire using various switches and such with the a5 egrip and stock board.

What I meant was too dremel about 1/2 cm away from the back, and then file the rest down.
