| beh_'s A5 a la rx78gp02 UPDATE October 17th 2008: Been meaning to update this thread but haven't in a long while. Finally found a short barrel to use for my CQB setup. Decided to run a MP5 style setup for CQB purposes since the M4 S.I.R. is a lil bit long and a fair bit on the heavy side when it comes to running in smaller spaces. Since I only have one A5, I just switch around the pieces. My current MP5 setup consists of again, Metadyne all around - MP5 air through mag (w/ Magpul) and MP5 sliding stock. 6" Palmers Brass barrel (No ports and brass in color - thanks to Guardian here in the forums for the purchase). and an APEX tip. Other than that the riser/scope/foregrip and rubber grip were just kept on from the M4. Planning on adding a MP5 SD shroud just to cover up the brass but currently loving the "bling bling effect" that it has. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() UPDATE June 23rd 2008: here's a small update on my S.I.R. project. Nothing new performance wise (kinda strapped for cash) but added a few small goodies to make my marker stand out from the rest. A big thanks to Airhog for his custom made grips (should of ordered it in OD to match the paint job - oh well next order i guess), Invictus for the OSF t-shirt and to Panda86 for the MC remote line cover. Now on to my marker - Basically I just spray painted my marker flat black and olive drab using Krylon Ultra Flat Camouflage paint. Followed by spraying Krylon Satin clear coat. So far the paint has held up but then again haven't really used my marker since painting it. Soon enough I will take it out to a big game. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() from the last update I ended up selling my black and grey V Force Profilers to a buddy of mine and picked up, the pictured, olive and black Grill. Haven't battle tested the grill yet but I find it more comfortable than the filers. bah we'll see soon enough though. In the last pic my gf suggested that I spice up the backside so I ended up just finding some cheap dollar store stickers and ended up spray painting my hopper the same flat black along with the letters. Came out with a 3d feel to it. Looks good to me and now my buddies will recognize that it's me under my mask by looking at my marker. Well that's the idea...but it doesn't always work as you plan it. So far my setup is complete and matches my gear pretty well. Not pictured is my black flurry emissary vest which ties everything in color wise. so all in all I am happy the way the paint job turned out and can't wait to take it out. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _ UPDATE May 17th 2008: Since the last post not much has changed except for the addition of a 6 Position Adjustable Car Stock and a custom made Suppressor which I fitted over my Big Shot Barell. The suppressor is made out of PVC plumbing plastic. Thanks to the forum member Frosty and his detailed how-to (Supressor Mod - My first A5 Mod.) which helped me make this on the first try. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() More pics will soon follow. (ignore the purple color of the Mag well - that's photoshop filter effects not doing what I wanted it to do.) Next up are: OPSGEAR Riser Rail, APEX Tip and a Tac Cap. If my tax return is decent, the full Tech T Cyclone upgrade will be added. Oh and the Multicam shirt and pants is on its way. Yippee Awaiting Arrival: Tiberius Arms Front Grip (purchased and awaiting arrival from forum member sneakatoke), and OSF/OG T Shirt from Invictus. __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ __________________________________________________ _ April 15th, 2008: Hey fellas, here is my A5 work in progress which, after seeing rx78gp02's A5 ARMS SIR, just had to have one of my own. This is also my very first post, my first paintball marker which is only 2 days old and it's also my b-day today as well. Oh and the Montreal Canadiens beat Boston 1-0 Yipppeee!! Now on with the pics.SKEETER A5 w/ "D-Boy" ARMS SIR Replica AIRSOFT shroud, Metadyne Industries M4 Mag, Stock 8" Barrell, PMI Remote Coil, Tippmann Flattop Wearver Rail Adapter, Custom Harness, Random Red Barrel Plug The Front: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Backside: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Basically to get the shroud to fit, I had measure, cut and shave (over and over and over) off a large enough chunk off so that I could get it to sit around the cyclone properly. All in all I am quite happy with my efforts and can't wait for the rest of the parts to arrive. Not pictured: - PMI Remote Coil, Flurry Industries Emissary Vest, VFORCE Profiler Mask, Pure Energy 48/3000 HPA Awaiting Arrival: <s>Tapco 6 Position Car Stock</s>, <s>1x30 Aimpoint Replica Red Dot Sight</s>, <s>X7 Hopper</s>, APEX Tip, <s>Lapco 12" APEX ready Big Shot Barrel</s> Enjoy. C&C are welcome. Last edited by beh_ : 10-17-2008 at 06:46 PM. |

| Re: AWW_SKEET_X3's A5 a la rx78gp02 The marker looks GREAT. I really like how you got the shroud and the top rail to blend into each other. BTW - barrel PLUG? Most fields do not allow those anymore. Reason: ig the marker accidentally fires for whatever reason, it can launch the plug, which is now a projectile just like a paintball. The barrel sock (aka 'bag', 'cover', 'condom') is the acceptable safety item now, because it will catch whatever is discharged from the marker if it accidentally fires. Just a friendly reminder... --TAG-- |

thanks for the safety tip. I still have the barrel condom that came with the marker in the box. I'll use that from now on. As for the barrel plug, I got it for free along with some gloves, knee pads, pods and a few other random accessories when I purchased my vest off of some dude from Craigslist. Quote:
Thanks dude, it was your marker the led me to purchasing an A5. I have a paintball meet this weekend and it will be my first outing with the marker. I'm sure you have had many great comments on your marker and can't wait to hear some for myself. |
