My A-5 Setup....

Here is my marker mostly complete. (The links should open up in a new window.) I need to get some updated pictures that show the rail & sight. It's real nice and works very well with my mask. I just have to get used to shooting at an offset. I'm pretty sure I can do that ;?)

Re: My A-5 Setup....

Looks good. for including the links. I have almost the same set-up and I love it. I like the vertical adapter with the stab. I am going to have to look into that mod.

Re: My A-5 Setup....

Thanks. The reason for the vertical adapter (for me) is that I *hate* the stock foregrip... I like how it looks. Keep in mind, you will need a longer length of braided hose. The vertical adapter is 2.5" more "forward". The stock asa location + stabilizer uses a 9" hose... Either an 11 or 12 inch hose should be appropriate. I could not easily find an 11" hose for a reasonable price so I bought the 12" from ActionVillage here.

I would love to get a Lapco barrel if there was any way of keeping my Apex tip.... I've done some searching here and on Google...I found one guy that was going to try it and one guy that said it wouldn't work. Not 100% sure at this point, but doesn't sound likely.

Edit: I also need to figure out what kind of "grip" (motocross parts store) will fit my Palmer's very snugly... Once I find a tight fitting grip that is long enough, I'll be pulling it over my palmer's stabilizer and I'll find a way to velcro it down... perhaps just a simple velcro strap (possibly sewn) into place.... I asked palmer's if they'd ever come up with something like that but they aren't interested because us paintballers are too fickle...we'd want too many different designs for it to be worth them doing the R&D on. lol. They said "just use a grip from a motorcycle or something like that...that's what other people do"... lol. I had been hoping for a full shroud in the form of a hand grip. oh well. heh.

Re: My A-5 Setup....

Nice job on your marker. It looks like you really been paying attention to some of the mods guys are doing around here, and at the same time developing your own likes and dislikes. Keep up the good work.

Re: My A-5 Setup....

Thanks pressence & worr. I was going for mostly functionality... even minor. I'll be polishing my internals this week or weekend when ever I have time. I think the vertical adapter isn't very functional, but it is "form"...ergonomics...

Re: My A-5 Setup....

Added a Red Dot (and green) NCSTAR Sight. I think I need to look into getting a raised rail mount...

Re: My A-5 Setup....

You could always try a paracord wrap for the regulator...

I had pics of an AR15 with a Dieter CQB vertical foregrip wrapped in paracord...it is an awesome look! Unfortunately, I can't find them right now.
