Hello all. This my first post, and my first marker. A good friend of mine told me I HAD to try this out, and if I did, that I would hooked. Of course he was completely right, and I am way beyond hooked.

Ok, this is my first paintball marker (or MERCER as one of the poll's mentioned - ). I basically went into our local shop and asked for the gun that would have all of the 12 year olds out on the field, either scared or drooling. He immediately began asking questions about "how" I wanted to play, and so forth, to which I had no clue. After several minutes it was clear I wanted to have an A-5. I couldn't be happier with this thing. It is such a well built machine, and it is evidentally upgradeable as far as you want to take it. Well, enough of the mumbling about the purchase of it, here is what I have so far.

A-5 Power Pack Kit. (First Purchase along with the Flatline Barrel)
Flatline Barrel
Ricochet Hopper
E-Grip
Camo Decals
Opsgear Tactical Stock

I am as yet undecided as to all of the upgrades I want, but i have a pretty good idea. What do you think so far? Any suggestions? I am all ears, or eyes as it were.

Here is a pic of my latest setup and the case I made for it from a $10 fishing reel case from Bass Pro Shop. The case is functional and light. It comes with 3 layers of foam that can be easily cut to allow for good placement of the gear. I put the marker, flatline, and my Opsgear stock into it. I still have a bag for the rest of my gear and tools, but this protects the marker very well.

As you can see I lost the decals and have since added the Palmer's Reg. What you can't see is the JCS Redhot Powertube, and front bolt as well as the completely polished internals. I still have a long way to go to get it where I want it for the type of play I do, but it is really getting there and is reliable on the field.

So you recommend a regulator as the next upgrade? Will that help with shot consistency as the tank changes temperature? I am a newb and haven't finished reading all of the forum posts yet. Thanks for the tip!

So far the E-grip has been my favorite upgrade. I love the ability to hone the response of the trigger to exactly what I need at the moment. Plus it's like a mouse click. So the barrel doesn't move at all.

y do i gotta b the person who comes on here with the new a5 but no upgrades with it? lol. anyways, how much did u pay for all that?
i joined on here like 3-4 weeks ago and i put up similar posts on here, the awesome guys responded on here right away, and for some reason i cannot get links here, but ill show u where to go. click on the complete list of forums, go to the tippmann a5, click on "tech help" and look for a thread called "suggested upgrades". these guys gave me loads of crap to look into. if ur like me, ull bookmark the page. also, ive found through looking through these posts that u can make ur own parts for the gun(usually just for looks but not always). Go to A5 Photo Gallery and click on my thread "homemade magazine" i made it in like 4-5 days. other ppl have made their own foregrips and whatnot also, such as ghost or tippyshooter. but mines undoubtedly the best. LOL JK JK. check these threads out and sry i couldnt get u some links, dunno y its doin this.

Thanks, all in all I guess I spent 500 bucks or so.
The power pack kit was something like 260.00, flatline - 100.00, E-grip - 100.00, richochet - 10.00, camo - 15.00, oil - 5.00, Stock - 50.00, Shooting your friends in the face and them smiling at you after - priceless.

An update. I just ordered a Shocktech front bolt, a JCS bolt, and a Palmer Stab kit with a micro guage.

Can't wait till it all gets here. It's getting closer to where I think I want it! I'll post better pics soon.

Well everything arrived today. I can hardly wait to get it all installed and dialed in! I ordered a chronograph today also so I don't have to go to the field to calibrate the FPS.
