Re: My noob A5

I like the TechT parts. They work well and if there is a failure of their part due to an issue on their end they will quickly replace it for free. If you have a failure that is due to not taking care of your equipment they can help identify the problem.

Basically: You need to grease (not gun oil, too thin) the Vortex ratchet mod. I grease mine after ever 1000 rounds. (You need to use a non-petroleum based grease...so White Lithium is a very good/cheap option.)

The QEPH works very well. I have one. It installed very easily as long as you know how to turn a screw driver.

When ever working on your marker, the cleaner and "clearer" your work area is the better off you will be. If you have a spring that shoots out from somewhere (the clip that holds the tombstone in place) then you can find it easily. If you are working on a work bench covered in tools and parts then you will have to dig.

Re: My noob A5

They are very easy to install. The instructions are available on TechT's website. TechTPaintball.com- Performance Matters

Go for it if:
1. It is well within your budget
2. You like to mod/upgrade
3. You want parts that are going to last a long time with simple maintenance
4. You seek 20+ bps performance.

Personally 1,2,&3 were enough for me to buy them.

After shipping that price is okay, but would have been better if it were free.

Re: My noob A5

Pull out the safety, remove the trigger group, (if you need to reuse your old sear and spring: take one of the side plates off of the old trigger group, remove the sear and spring, remove a side plate of your new trigger, grease sear, insert sear and spring into new trigger, replace trigger plate), remove bottom adapter block, remove the three grip screws, take grip halves apart, carefully remove the armature pin, board, solenoid and capactior (if you need to solder the solenoid and capacitor, do it now), put new board into grip, replace the grip havles, screws, etc., drop the pin and trigger in and see if it works. If it doesn't try bending the microswitch about halfway across the switch, with the peak of the bend pointing upwards so that it will trip the sensor more efficiently.

APE Rampage boards do not need to be turned off. That's one reason the batteries last longer: no battery drain between shots.
