Closing in on finished with my first A-5.

So, I've gotten a lot closer to being finished with my tinkering on this beast.

Asthetically, she's not much, but my accuracy and ROF keeps me happy.

Currently Sporting
- J%J Edge Barrel Kit
- SpecOps Stovepipe
- X7 Hopper
- "Clicky Spring" Mod (Papermate Flexgrip Elite)
- ADCO E-Dot sight
- TechT Vortex
- TechT Lightening Rod
- TechT QEPH
- 1/8" Hose and fittings
- Lapco "Milsim" Foregrip

Backordered
- X7 Cyclone Sprockets

On Order
- UMS Short Striker Rail (with L and R rails)
- UMS Grip Plug
- UMS Sling Swivel Pin

All that's left to do
- Polish my internals. I've polished the internals on my teammate's A-5, and I may be doing yet another this afternoon. Still haven't gotten to my own yet. Doh.
- SpecOps Dogleg Kit
- Palmer Stabilizer (to be mounted on the Striker Rail, left side)
- Proseal Powertube/Bolt
- Custom sideplate reading "Oratio Ultima Regem"

Possibly Considering
- Rhythm Innovations e-Grip with Pro single trigger.

Overview shot:

Down the Barrel:

Closeup of the Cyclone and hose:

And for comparison, an older shot:

Nice and clean. The SSR will look good on there and give it a slightly more "serious" look...
Only thing I think I'd add unless you wanted a stock was a JCS RVA (just my $.02)

I'm diggin the barrel kit. It looks good, how's it shoot?
Have you had any feed issues with the X7 hopper at an angle?

Thank you! Yeah, the SSR will be a nice look, and should also get my sight just where I want it. With the offset hopper, I have an almost perfectly clear sight picture through the red dot. With the extra hight of the SSR, I should be all set - plus, I can then run my reg on it.

Yeah, I've considered an RVA, except then I can't run the dogleg stock. On the flipside, however, I think having a second reg (the Palmer that's going on it - I generally run HPA) will help with fine-tuning velocity.

I've had quite good luck with it, and the J&J's pretty reasonably priced, and doesn't have the flimsy insert issues of kits like the Freak. I am tempted to pick up and try a Palmer's brass at some point, just because so many A5OG'ers gush about it.

When I'm down to my last few shots, some will sometimes dawdle in the bottom of the hopper. Flick your wrist, and they fall into the offset. By that same token, however, the offset adds 15-20 balls to your total capacity.

And you aren't biased or anything, right?

Re: Closing in on finished with my first A-5.

I wouldn't get the bolt/power tube upgrades. They won't help your performance and you won't ever notice them either. If your old ones break, then upgrade.

Re: Closing in on finished with my first A-5.

The only reason I was looking at the DOP proseal is because it seems to the be the only bolt which has much of an effect, according to that study hanging around here somewhere.
