| Re: Low Velocity Issue Make sure you follow the directions for setting up your stabilizer correctly as well. Take it back off and set up your marker like the stock configuration. Get the spring kit and adjust your gun to 280 - 285. Then put on the reg.. any further velocity adjusting you will do will be at the reg.

| Re: Low Velocity Issue Ah, no, a reg is about velocity control. With a PPS Stabilizer, setup generally runs thus: -Break in your reg. 2 drops of Gold Cup oil in the ASA. 1k-3k shots (no paint required) -Reg up your marker. Open the FVA all the way. -Dial down the reg until you're consistent at 320 FPS. -Tighten your FVA in until you're consistent at the desired speed (285, generally) -If you're using a spring kit/RVA instead of an FVA, I'd do much the same thing. When you get down to 320 FPS using the reg, start swapping springs to get as close to 285 as possible. If you can't get it bang on, use either an RVA, or you'll have to do a little FVA/Reg tweaking.

| Re: Low Velocity Issue The reason to use the reg for velocity control is to lower the operating pressure as far as possible. That will allow the marker to be a little gentler on paint, run more consistently, and run a little deeper into your tank. Just be careful when opening up the FVA. You can back it out too far where it starts causing some backward turbulence which will drop muzzle velocity. It should be flush with the inside of the power tube.

| So I have been playing for years but I don't know much about dealing with A-5 problems. I always took the lazy route of paying for repairs/mods or having a friend do it. I go as far as cleaing it, that's it. Ok so I'm with the same issue again. I took some info from post and I need a little more elaboration on certain terms. VVulfe Posted- Have you broken in the Stabilizer yet? Anticipate shooting 1000-3000 cycles before it settles. Done Once settled, then dial it in. Dial it in? You can do this with just air - no paint required. If you rebuild the reg, you'll need to do it again. Ah, no, a reg is about velocity control. With a PPS Stabilizer, setup generally runs thus: -Break in your reg. 2 drops of Gold Cup oil in the ASA. 1k-3k shots (no paint required) –This is at the bottom when the tank or nipple will normally go? -Reg up your marker. Open the FVA all the way. FVA? Remind me where this is again. -Dial down the reg until you're consistent at 320 FPS. – How do I dial it down? -Tighten your FVA in until you're consistent at the desired speed (285, generally) -Again -If you're using a spring kit/RVA instead of an FVA, I'd do much the same thing. When you get down to 320 FPS using the reg, start swapping springs to get as close to 285 as possible. If you can't get it bang on, use either an RVA, or you'll have to do a little FVA/Reg tweaking. So I need to know the difference between FVA & RVA. I bought a new spring kit and I put the hard one in. I also need to know how to set the velocity at the reg. I only see one dial at the bottom that can be turned. I'm said to say that if this fails I am just going to give in and send it to the shop. $25 is a small price to pay for my sanity.

Once you're steady around 320, dial that FVA back in to bring your velocity down to field-range (generally around 280). Make sense?
