Grrr Issue: Sticking Sear

I have a small issue.

I have an Egrip with APE board and JCS duel trigger... and my sear seems to randomly stick in the firing position. I've noticed this happend with the egrip on or off the marker... any ideas?

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

Need a little more elaboration then that, is the sear actually sticking or is the marker randomly rapid fireing when you shoot it? How many shots have you shot threw your marker up to this problem?

1 If the sear is actually getting stuck-- clean your marker well, make sure there is no build up of paint or grease or anything sticky near the trigger assembly.

2 If its randomly rapid firing -- check the sear tip (the part that catches the bolt) make sure it is a nice and clean 90* angle, same with the rear bolt, make sure where the sear catches is not beat up or rounded off. It does not take much wear to notice a problem.

3 Another side note -- it is possible you switched the sear spring with the trigger spring.

I would try 1 and 3 first

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

its actually sticking... whenever it starts to rapid fire ill stop the marker... sometimes it'll reset itself... i take the grip down from the marker body and its stuck down... the sear isnt worn at all... nor is the hammer... it just happens to stick down. It is not sticking down hard though... just a little touch and it pops right back up.

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

it seems as if the two side plates of the trigger assembly are holding on tightly to the sear itself... because while it's out of the marker it doesnt do it. but if i hold the plates together by hand... the sear will stick down

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

put some marker oil on the sides of the sear to help it slide a little easier

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

ok heres what im thinking... what if i take that sear out... and sand the sides smooth with like... 800grit sand paper... just enough to make them smoother not enough to actually remove significant mass.. then put a drop or two of oil like TencenT said?

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

if i were to try that i'd use finer than 800grit... try (if you're willing to take it apart) cleaning all the trigger parts really well, putting them back together, and lubing them up. and make sure the two springs aren't switched too.

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

also check the armature pin and solenoid to your egrip. take it off the gun and shoot it a lil. see if the solenoid is staying in fire mode.

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

I've been having a similar situation to a lesser degree. Does the solenoid require lubrication of any kind?

Re: Issue: Sticking Sear

none that im aware of, but you might make sure operation is smooth every once in a while. you can check just by gliding the pin to the solenoid back and forth. but you might also check that the sear is oiled.
