The drive spring (the one between the endcap/stock and the rear bolt) is going to be the easiest to replace, try that first. If you've still got a problem, i'd try the valve spring next. |

| Re: Problems getting A5 up to 285 fps A friend and I have both had this problem recently. He replaced the drive spring with another stock spring and that fixed th issue. Our best guess is that over time it just lost it's ability to stay compressed, kinda like an old busted slinky. I had the same velocity issue last weekend. We thought it would be the spring again, since I hadn't replaced mine in over 3 years. When we went to take out the back retainer pins, we noticed one had broken off. Once we replaced it, the velocity juped right back up where it should've been. Our guess there is that the butt plate was being pushed just slightly out of alignment which caused the spring to lose it's tension. Maybe try these? |
