| hi all recently got meself a new a5 and decided to mod it up a bit after looking thru the majority of threads on here all mods went on ok ,with no problems fitted the techt cyclone mods including the green squishy paddles and then went on to upgrade the reciever with the red power tube 75155 after installing it i attached my co2 and out came c02 gushing out the barrel until i cocked it which stopped the leak ?? it seemed to work ok when it was firing had a look on here for referance to see if it was a problem or if i had purchaced the wrong tube ,,doesnt seem so so stripped the receiver down to check n re oil the o-rings and valve assy all seemed ok until i attached the air again upon inspection with the handle removed i noticed that the rear spring was pushing the bolt onto the valve thus releasing the air before being cocked so my question is ??? is there another mod that needs to be done ie:spring or have i done something wrong ??? any help appreciated thanx |

| Re: powertube help please Not really an issue. I have seen this with stock P-tubes too. Just cock it before you air it up . Quote:

| Re: powertube help please yeah thanx guys guess i done the newbie thing and shot before i read the destructions properly went to our local pb field (woodsball) to try out all the mods in a 1 to 1 with a mate who plays tourno first air'd up 3000psi air ,took it to the chrono 342 fired a few thru ,then came the ball breaks , screwed the vs most ov the way in and got down to 292 then screwed it all the way in ,and the fps wouldnt go below 285 is this because the vsa on the powertube is of a narrower diameter than stock ?? all afternoon i suffered barrel breaks at higher rates of fire and constantly swabbing the barrel ,no chops just breaks which got really annoying after trying different grades/makes of pb's any advice ??? |

| Re: powertube help please Did you take out the bolt and powertube and clean them after a break? Sometimes paint can stick to those and cause problems, too. Are you using CO2 still or did you try out HPA? Is the speed that high only with the Red Hot PT or with the stock PT as well? |

| Re: powertube help please Grimick, what kind of temps were you playing in and what barrel were you using? Most barrel breaks have something to do with a paint to barrel match. Or the temp can have a big effect on how the paint reacts to the gun. Very cold temps are very hard on paint.

| Re: powertube help please yes i used hpa down at the pb centre as they dont use co2 but i have to use c02 at home as hpa isnt available but i always strip n clean + oil before i change over to inspect for any damage to o-rings after a few breaks i field stripped the marker to inspect for paint and residue but only found this round around the front bolt area,so cleaned it up ,washed out the apex and the exhaust ports on the barrel, and tried again fired ok for 10-20 rounds then splattt the temp on the day was around 4 deg but sunny with a covering of snow i thought that the paint might be an issue but my mates ego was firing the same paint at 292 on hpa with no breaks ???(until they hit me whilst swabbing) i really cant get any figures for the velocity on c02 as i dont have a chrono . my set up is basic a5 with responce trigger ,all the techt mods+ qeph ,polished internals ,and a jts red hot powertube+bolt and a bt8" with apex barrel Last edited by grimick : 11-24-2008 at 08:57 PM. |
