e-grip/rear-bolt issue

Folks,

I have been snooping around the forums for the past few days and have not found anything that "exactly" matches my issue. I am running a standard A-5 with a few mods, CO2, but my issue happens with them or without them so I won't get to detailed.

Also, this marker did have the response trigger installed, but it has since been removed.

Issue:
The primary issue is that when I pull the trigger fast enough to activate auto-response or turbo (any setting above standard semi-auto) my a5 runs off into a full auto mode....the only way that I can stop firing is to degas the marker.

1. This only happens on my marker....I have tested my e-grip as well as a friends egrip and the behavior cannot be duplicated on other markers. Only mine.

2. I have stripped the gun repeatedly, I even stripped the halves to verify that it was reassembled properly when the response trigger was uninstalled.

3. I have compared the rear bolt, power tube, front bolt, and linkage arm to functioning markers and I see no visual difference.

4. I have completely swapped internals, including the rear bolt...nothing changed. My marker continues to run away.

5. I have the issue when using my tippmann brand expansion chamber or when it is attached directly to the stock asa...or screwed directly into the tombstone.

6. This happens with a stock egrip and with an egrip with the Tippmann double trigger. The issue does not happen when using a standard grip.

I am a little exasperated....i am not sure what else I can do other than send it in, but I a have no idea what Tippmann will be able to do. Any thoughts?

Re: e-grip/rear-bolt issue

thats weird, so basically as a test with your friends markers it seems that there is no problem cause its not the egrip or the hammer/parts etc.

What is the board capped at? settings? dwell and debounce? did you put ont he egrip with pushpins installed? lube your internals? lube sear? maybe its your hammer? wear on hammer or sear? oring deformed? or broken? or worn? oil the solenoid a little bit. oil marker entirely. enough air? WAS or the old tippmann board? did you try your egrip on your friend gun or just did a side by side on your own gun and his gun next to each other or did you switch the egrips on both guns. try that if you didnt. put your egrip on his gun and his egrip on your gun.

Edit:
Maybe its the sear spring as well. i had problems with my sear spring weakening and not able to catch the hammer.

>>>>>Hmm, I have a guess. Refer to the pic below

Note the outlined part on the trigger - its a little metal pin holding in a spring and a little sliding piece of metal. This little thing is necessary for the mechanical trigger to trip the sear, but with an egrip it it's unnecessary. All it does is hold the sear up longer then it should, resulting in its sounding like its firing off a lot of air.

I'm not 100% sure this is your problem; theres a good chance you have already removed the little metal piece there, but I thought I'd take a chance and offer it as a possible solution.

Re: e-grip/rear-bolt issue

Also make sure you have the sear with the round hole NOT the sear with the oval hole.

The oval is for R/T and standard semi-auto grip.
The round is for the e-grip.

Re: e-grip/rear-bolt issue

mine was doing the exact same, but it turned out to be low air in my HPA. Have you tried using different bottles? Maybe the one you are using is flawed in the pressure dept..... or it is low.

Re: e-grip/rear-bolt issue

If you have removed the metal 'clip' at the back of the trigger like Eyekon suggested, and checked the sear to make sure you have the one with the round hole as shadow51 suggested, you may need to play with the 'debounce' setting. Go into programming mode and turn the debounce up5-10 clicks. Then try it.

Did you also swap the sear? It is possible that the sear is worn and not catching the bolt.
