A-5 Full aouto problem

Hi, I am having a problem with my a-5 sooting full auto. When I air up my gun and have my e-grip set in semi i will pull the trigger once and then boom the gun just keeps cycling like crazy and I cant stop it untill i disconnect the air. I am pretty sure this is a diff problem than the ussual run on thing that lots of ppl have because when i used to have run on i could just put the safety in and it would stop shooting. When i put my dwell way up to 45 it didn't make a difference this time so I am pretty sure its not a problem with the electronics. I am thinking either the sear is to worn to catch the bolt or its sticking or something. What do you guys think the problem is? Could it be the sear? I think that if it was the sear then it would just un cock its self you know? Could it be the valve is just letting the air run through it and not stopping it? Any help appreciated! Thanks

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

it might be the sear. you didn't change out grips latley, have you? if the metal slider is still in there, that might be the problem.

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

If you did change to an e-grip setup and are using the stock semi-auto mechanical trigger as said above remove slider, make sure you have a sear with a round hole NOT oval hole. But most likely it is your metal micro switch leaf needs to be bent up more.

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

I have the jcs trigger, so I don't think I have a slider on it. I am not sure what a slider is aswell? Also I already bent the switch up a bunch and I don't think that is the problem anymore. I will check the sear though. What does the sear look like when its worn out?

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

Sounds like the sear is worn. You should change it out every so many months especially running an e-grip due to the rate of fire. It wears down very quick. I would buy a few anyway regardless if it is the problem or not. You will eventually need to change it out, so nothing lost if it turns out to be something else (but I doubt it's not the issue...)

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

I think I will just buy the ape board. Tippmann has done a crappy job with hooking up with was to make there boards. Looking at my sear it looked fine to me and didnt have rounded edges or anything. There are soe other problems with my board too. Some times smoke comes out of it and sometimes the solenoid wont click.

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

Also, make sure your rear bolt is not worn. I boneheaded when reassembling my trigger and put the stock semi auto sear in the egrip. It messed up the sear and the rounded a corner on the rear bolt. The gun ran away on me and chopped about twenty balls before I could get the gas turned off. Fortunately my mistake only cost like $15 for a new pin and rear bolt. As stated earlier, do not put a sear in an egrip with an oval hole in it.

Re: A-5 Full aouto problem

Is either the rear bolt or sear that is worn off. Is called runaway firing. It happens with e-trigger or R/T.
