Response Trigger really that touchy???

I put a response trigger on my A5...sometimes it works sometimes not. Seems to work "better" with CO2 buy I'm going with HPA. I've done the clicky spring thing. I don't know... I guess it works... it doesn't not work!? Done the Q-tip mod also. The length has been worked out(sear is released and have just a very small amount of over travel). This also works/ not work. I'm not new to triggers. I've been working with firearms most of my 49 years so i'm not just mashing on the trigger. I've since ordered 1/8" hoses and fittings hoping that this will work better especially with HPA. There are no leaks. I can adjust Flow control and control BPS but it goes away. Like I said seems to work better with CO2. My bottle regulators are HP. Centerflag 420 and a Crossfire. One does not work better than the other. I know Crossfire tends to be a little lower in the PSI department. I don't know about Centerflag. If they both are a little low 750 to 800 PSI, will the larger plumbing really help? I also have messed with the FVA (lowering FPS), trying to get a little more "back pressure". I'm starting to feel that the R/T thing is BS but I really am trying not to have "electrics" on my woods gun. Any encouragement would be GREATLY appreciated.

Sorry, but I'm having a hard time following you. Your r/t isn't staying consistent? They are a little touchy sometimes. If you're shooting at high rates for a long period, you will have shootdown. There are alot of r/t tuning threads in hear so I would look at those and seehow things work out. One thing that will mess you up is if you are always using different stuff. Its an art to tune it perfect and it takes a little time. If you get it perfect then change lines, tanks, springs, etc., you have to start all over again. Good luck.

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

Could be a bad valve. I was having some problems with mine, but I finally ordered an X7 valve for it TippmannParts.com - X-7 Gun. Also, if you have oiled the O-rings on the banjo fitting, you may have oil in the hoses. How well does it work? Is it just maybe 1 quick spurt, then back to semi, or does it just skip?

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

Somtimes 3-5 shots. Sometimes semi. Other times I've sustained longer shot strings. It's not about shoot down. O-rings are oiled. I'll check for excessive oil in hoses. I've pretty much read most of the R/T tuning threads. The only thing I have not experienced is what happens with the 1/8" stuff (won't have it untill next week).

Hopefully if it's a bad valve I'll know after the 1/8" swap.

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

I just got my 4th rt and I have never really had any problems. I did have a problem that sounds similar, and it was caused by the cross bolt in the back with the orings. If you force those to much it will take a very small sliver off the oring and cause all kinds of headaches. I have about 20 of those orings now. But, the symptoms of my problem were close to what you are experiencing. Erratic firing.

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

Yea one more thing... I came across a tread last night about trigger mods. A couple of comments stated the Q-tip mod was more for manual and e-grip NOT response triggers. Any merit in this?

Can't hurt to check those cross-bolt o-rings. Just for the record the system's a couple of months old. Any idea where to obtain these o-rings in bulk? What size they are?

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

I have the same problem with mine. It works fine with CO2. But, Just won't "bump" with HPA.
So I'm going to put the RT on my 98 an get a E-Grip for the A-5. I also think I may have a bad valve. Marker won't chrono over 240 runnin' HPA.

Re: Response Trigger really that touchy???

Unfortunately I don't have any new ideas for you...but I can at least tell you that my A5 that came with a 1/8th inch line to the R/T has been solid since I tuned it in. I'm running CO2 (HPA tank is in the mail) but I can hold a stream of fire pretty much until the CO2 bottle freezes. I handed the gun to my friend who had never even picked up a marker before and he was able to immediately find and hold a stream as well.

All I have other than the 1/8th inch line is the pen spring mod, so here's hoping the new line works for you.
