What is a WAS board?

Hello eveyone, I am a newbie...

Been reading all the informative posts. And I was was wondering what is a WAS board? Is it for the E-grip? Is it a mod for theE-grip? I was planning on getting a E-grip for my A-5 and wanted to know if they came with the new E-grips.

Can someone explain to me what it does?

Re: What is a WAS board?

The WAS board is a circuit board for the e-grip made by Wicked Air sports, ther is also the regular tippmann board, or the APE board, the WAS board is good, but it turns off after 10 minutes of inactivity (not that great for scenario) and if you want 3-shop burst or full auto, you have to shoot 3 balls at semi before it will activate. The ape board has a few more programming options and it does not turn itself off, only goes dormant. I have a WAS board, but if I knew what I know now, I would probably get the APE board.

Hope that helps.

Re: What is a WAS board?

Thanks,

I just called my local Paintball shop and they said the E-grips they have already have the WAS boards in them, for $99.

I think I might go that route.

Re: What is a WAS board?

That's how I got mine. And it's alot cheaper than spending ANOTHER $75 for just an upgrade. I think the APE board is better, but not $75 better.

Re: What is a WAS board?

Stupid question, does the stock tippmann board trun off after a while, or does it only trun on when you pull the triger?

Re: What is a WAS board?

If you want to go straight to using the APE board, you can buy the e-grip parts from http://www.tippmannparts.com/index.c...&categoryID=38 . Then you can add the board you want.

Re: What is a WAS board?

The APE board and Tippmann board just lie dormant, they do not use power, until you pull the trigger, then they "wake up". the WAS board turns off totally, and if your out in the bushand someone starts shooting at you, it's very disheartening to pull your trigger and nothing happen. then you have to fumble around to find a tool, or a stick to turn it back on.

Re: What is a WAS board?

That is one thing bad about WAS board is that it turns off totally after 10 min of inactivity. You have to reinsert the tool and turn back on. I carry a couple of coffee straws in my vest just in case. Maybe when this board goes bad I will spring for the APE board.
