E-grip sear spring colors?

Well I've been having a heck of a time trying to get my new WAS working properly. I am trying my best to troubleshoot this issue since I dont want to shell out for an APE.

I was curious to what color everyone's egrip sear spring color is?

I've scene, so far 2 different colors of egrip sear colors. My original sear spring was blue. I replaced it with a new one from tippmannparts and god a purple egrip sear spring. I saw on tippmannparts today their sear spring color was silver.

I want to compare sear spring colors to see if I can narrow down this issue.

My gun, for some odd reason, will not release the hammer. Dwell is set to 20ms, was set to 25 ms. New battery, less than a case through it. Energizer E2 titanium. Running an RI trigger. Dwell set to 10 ms.

I am thinking that it's just the wrong sear spring since I noticed my mech had a purple sear spring. I know there are suppose to be 2 different sear springs.

Re: E-grip sear spring colors?

I was having the same problem with one of my buddies guns, the sear would not trip the hammer.

Step one, make sure you have the right sear. TA01135 Sear [98AE,98PSAE,A5E,ABE,CProE,CProAE,CProPSAE,EXT] THis is the right sear with the small hole.

Next the spring is a silver/bronze color. I had the black spring in my gun and when i called tippman, this is what he told me was wrong.

Need sear with small hole, silver/bronze colored spring.

Hope that helps!

Re: E-grip sear spring colors?

I know I have the right sear, I guess Ill try a new sear spring.

Odd thing is that it worked for like 4 games 2 weeks ago, and mid day its giving me my current issues.

That is odd, sicne I bought the spring from tippmannparts. I know the springs use to be blue, its really confusing that they keep changing the colors.

I agree. I think it is pointless because it messes with the operators heads

Re: E-grip sear spring colors?

Also, make sure the rod can slide easily. An incorrectly routed battery wire can definately cause your problem. I've had the same problem. I also had to do a little jeweler file work on the grip to prevent too much rubbing. Also, I was told from tippmann, a WAS board should always work in the default modes. I would restore default settings and make sure it works there before I start tweeking on the settings.
