Exclamation You do clean your R/T Cylinder, right?

**Moved to Triggers from Internals, per content and OP's request**

One of the things that I personally have never heard anyone talk about is cleaning the R/T cylinder in the grip. If you dont do it often it can slow you down, and just become nasty inside. Its a simple process that takes a few minutes to do.

1) Remove your grip from your marker
2) Remove the R/T cylinder from your grip.
3) Separate the plunger from the cylinder itself
4) Clean both items in warm soapy water
5) Dry thoroughly
6) Lube the inside of the cylinder
7) Lube the rubber o ring on the plunger
8) Re insert plunger into cylinder, wipe excess lube from outer cylinder rim
9) Put back in grip, and reassemble.

Re: You do clean your R/T Cylinder, right?

I do every now and then, but I'll admit that's the least cleaned part of my A5.

I like to keep all the parts of my A-5 shiny and clean. I'll even take it apart when it doesn't need cleaning just for the fun of it. But I have to admit I didn't clean the Piston housing of the R/T when I tested out my Pure Lube today, but that's because I cleaned it after my last game. That Pure Lube is a ot easier to put on than White Litheum Grease.

Yea, same here I usually clean my stuff when not needed. kinda has a nice calming effect, hehe. My Pure Lube also make lubing a lot less messy!

Just imagine by taking care of your marker just a little bit more compulsively than the next guy how long it's going to last and better still, function for years to come? If you keep your marker in pristine condition, think of it's performance in the field. Should be no less than excellent.

I take care of my real steal guns almost as well as my paintball gear. I would probably clean them more, but they're kept locked up. My rifle looks as good as it did when I bought it 5 years ago.

I also think people should clean their Trigger Assembly more often then they do. At least most of my friends with A-5's don't bother cleaning anything except what they can reach by pulling out the 4 push-pins. I know for a fact that at least one of them has never taken apart his Cyclone, and that should be greased and inspected for wear frequently.

Re: You do clean your R/T Cylinder, right?

Is this recommended for CO2 HPA or what? I could see maybe HPA as it's just high pressure air from the outside and trash can get into your internals.
