New R/T. Works but I don't kow how to work it...

Hello,

I'm kind of a newbie here, and to a5's... I love mine! I decided to upgrade to the r/t. I installed it, correctly I believe because when it wants it gives me a crazy burst, but never constantly. Again this is my first time using an RT and i've tried looking through pages of threads to get an idea but I'm lost...

bottom line:
does anyone have anywords of help/advice/encouragement to get 'er going more consistantly. I know I've heard of the "sweet spot" maybe I have yet to find it... pleasze and thanks!!!! any thing helps!

Turn it down (clockwise) until you can no longer pull the trigger. Then start opening it up a quarter turn or so at a time until you get a good balance between the ROF you're looking for and a big enough sweet spot that you can keep it there.

Welcome to the board! You will need to adjust the flow valve. Do a search, you will find a wealth of knowledge.

Re: New R/T. Works but I don't kow how to work it...

at least you figured out you had to find the sweetspot. When i got my RT i spent a few months where i thought that it was supposed to make me pull the trigger faster, which i couldnt. Practice makes perfect, and i find that if im at the chrony, shooting targets, i can RT my full hopped, but the most ive done in a game is maybe 5 seconds or so.

The best thing that I have done to help me shoot faster is to replace the trigger spring with a pen spring. It's a 3 minute job and allows you to find the sweetspot easier. With a few minutes of practice, I can let go strings of 20 or so balls with ease.

Unfortunately if you are shooting CO2 gun freezing is kind of normal. Especially if its a cool day outside. The best way to prevent this, as LazyBrantford said is switching to HPA. Another viable option that will certainly help is adding a remote line to your setup. It will give the gas more time to expand and in general is cheaper than making a jump to HPA.
